Patent number: 9907096Abstract: A system, method and apparatus for re-establishing a video call received at a public safety answering point are described. A Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) video call establishment request is received at an emergency call answer node. The video call establishment request has an indication of a previously established emergency messaging session between an operator workstation and a sending device to re-establish. The emergency call answer node checks a recovery queue for a previously received call establishment request having a matching indication for the previously established video call to re-establish. The emergency call answer node bridges a session leg for the received call establishment request and a session leg for the previously received call establishment request having the matching indication for the previously established messaging session to re-establish the messaging session when a match is found.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 2016Date of Patent: February 27, 2018Assignee: Solacom Technologies Inc.Inventors: Daniel Biage, Gilles Ferland

Patent number: 9426304Abstract: A method and system of emergency call management is provided. Emergency calls received at an emergency service platform (ESP) through one or more communication networks are associated with location information. The location information is identified to a map server through an i3 event logging protocol to be displayed on graphical map displays at operator positions. An operator of an operator position can then select a call from the graphical map display and an associated responder client will request that the emergency call be routed by the ESP to the operator or a secondary responder agency. The operator position are associated with a public safety access point (PSAP) associated with the incoming emergency calls.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 2014Date of Patent: August 23, 2016Assignee: Solacom Technologies Inc.Inventors: Daniel Biage, Gilles Ferland

Publication number: 20060198360Abstract: An apparatus and a method for providing call continuity to a VoIP terminal user responsive to degrading call quality. The quality of a VoIP call is assesses by monitoring the quality of the corresponding IP packet traffic using conventional IP packet quality measures such as, for example, jitter, packet loss and packet delay. When a quality trend indicator crosses a predetermined threshold, a continuity call is originated to the user from a mechanism connected to the IP network. The continuity call uses a connection infrastructure different from the one used by the VoIP terminal such as, for example, a mobility infrastructure (cellular), a wireline infrastructure, a wireless data protocol infrastructure or other similar infrastructure. The continuity call is connected to the user, the original call is bridged with the continuity call and the leg of the original call to the user is dropped.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 7, 2005Publication date: September 7, 2006Inventors: Daniel Biage, Sebastien Demers

Publication number: 20040190701Abstract: An apparatus and a method for a distributed conference bridge having a plurality of interface modules, each with voice signal bridging capability, connected by a bus. The present invention reduces the voice signal bandwidth requirement for the bus and increases the reliability of the conference bridge compared to a centralized conference bridge. An embodiment with conference participants connected to a second bus reduces the bandwidth requirement between the buses compared to a centralized conference bridge with participants connected to an auxiliary chassis.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 28, 2003Publication date: September 30, 2004Applicant: Versatel Networks Inc.Inventor: Daniel Biage
