  • Publication number: 20230303962
Abstract: An oleaginous yeast strain of the species Trichosporon oleaginosus, deposited on May 28, 2020 at Leibniz-Institut DSMZ, deposit number DSM 33530 can be used in the production of lipids by fermentation and was obtained by mutagenesis and subsequent selection from the oleaginous yeast strain of the species Trichosporon oleaginosus DSM 32508. The strain DSM 33530 is characterized by high thermotolerance, such as to allow the fermentation temperature to be increased compared to conventional processes and still guarantee the vital functions of the microorganism during fermentation itself.

  • Patent number: 10961497
Abstract: A method for concentrating, in order to favour the subsequent extraction process of intracellular lipids, a cell suspension containing a biomass of oleaginous yeasts fermented in fermentation broth under conditions that allow the intracellular accumulation of lipids, where the biomass contains significant quantities of mucilaginous material. The method includes: a) cultivating the oleaginous yeasts in a fermentation broth to obtain a cell suspension containing the mucilaginous biomass; b) subjecting the cell suspension obtained from a) to heat treatment, at a temperature between 95° C. and 120° C. and to acid treatment, to obtain a treated cell suspension containing the mucilaginous biomass containing intact oleaginous yeast cells; and c) concentrating the treated cell suspension obtained from b), by removing at least part of the fermentation broth to obtain a concentrated cell suspension.

  • Patent number: 10156380
Abstract: A duct is shaped and sized for connectability to a vent (or vent adaptor). The duct has an end portion with a flared section separated from a tapered flap section by a lip. The flaps are foldable inwardly at the lip upon engagement with the vent, and airflow through the duct presses the folded flaps against the vent for additional securement of the connection between same. Additional securement and stability may be provided by an adhesive retaining a tapered flap section to a flared section following inward folding of the tapered flap section.

  • Patent number: 10139018
Abstract: A foam duct is provided. Among other applications, it may be used in automotive HVAC systems. The method of making this duct reduces material waste and provides an unexpectedly reliable joint in a duct at a sharp or rounded corner. In place, the airflow further supports the joint. In the method, a first portion of a hollow pre-duct is joined with a second portion of a hollow pre-duct by bending the portions at a cut-out positioned between the portions. The bending is complete when the portions form a mechanical connection, which may be signaled by tactile or audible feedback.

  • Patent number: 9650275
Abstract: Integrated process for the production of bio-oil from sludge coming from a wastewater purification plant comprising the following steps: (a) sending wastewater to said purification plant obtaining sludge; (b) subjecting the sludge obtained in said step (a) to liquefaction, obtaining a mixture Including an oily phase consisting of bio-oil, a solid phase and an aqueous phase; (c) sending the aqueous phase obtained in said step (b) to said purification plant. The bio-oil (or “bio-crude”) thus obtained can be advantageously used in the production of bio-fuels which can be used as such, or in a mixture with other automotive fuels. Otherwise, said bio-oil (or “bio-crude”) can be used as such (bio-fuel), or in a mixture with fossil fuels (combustible oil, coal, etc.), for the generation of electric energy or heat.
