  • Publication number: 20230352912
Abstract: A heterostructure laser is provided comprising an epitaxially grown substrate of first dopant type, an active region and layer of second dopant type, a narrow mesa having less than 20% open area and a side wall slope of less than 85 degrees, wherein said narrow mesa is etched through the active region and layer of second dopant type using in-situ MOCVD, a plurality of current blocking layers, an overclad layer and a contact layer of second dopant type, and an isolation mesa incorporating the narrow mesa, wherein the isolation mesa is etched through the active region, layer of second dopant type and plurality of current blocking layers and wherein the plurality of current blocking layers is grown without exposure to oxygen.

  • Patent number: 8163012
Abstract: A multi-planar annuloplasty ring for implantation adjacent to the tricuspid valve with a gap adjacent to the apex of the triangle of Koch. The anterior part of the ring body extending from the highest point at the anteroseptal commissure down to a lower plane at the anteroposterior commissure. During this course it is curved upwards. The posterior part of the ring body extends downward towards the lowest point at the posteroseptal commissure in a relatively straight course. The septal part of the ring body extending from the lowest point at the posteroseptal commissure upwards towards the highest point at the anteroseptal commissure. During this course it is curved upward.

  • Patent number: 4557383
Abstract: A shock-proof case especially suited for portable measurement apparatus. The case is comprised of a moldable elastomeric material having a wall with an opening therein, in the periphery of which is formed an elastic encasement groove for receipt of a plate of a material significantly more rigid than said elastomeric material. The plate includes numerous cavities in its peripheral region encased within the groove. The elastomeric material of the case is remolded over the peripheral region of the plate in such a way that the elastomeric material fills the cavities in the plate during the molding process, and thus ensures an effective bonding between the plate and the elastomeric material of the case. The case may also be provided with damping means of varying thickness to cushion the apparatus against shock.
