  • Publication number: 20240293709
Abstract: An expandable component of a charging device comprising an outer boundary configured, in use, to be displaced. The expandable component also comprises a rotatable member, in communication with the outer boundary via a connecting member; and a guiding portion configured to translate a rotation of the rotatable member into a motion of the connecting member such that the outer boundary moves between a first position and a second position. The outer boundary is arranged to contact an inner wall of a container. The rotatable member is configured to rotate in response to a rotational input. The expandable component therefore preferably provides the charging device with an adjustable system that allows the charging device to integrate with any container by physically changing the dimensions of the expandable component to match the dimensions of the container.

  • Publication number: 20240261647
Abstract: A grip adjustment system comprising: a sleeve positionable, in use, on an object configured to be gripped by a user. The system also comprises a distributed array of actuators, each actuator being arranged to actuate a respective portion of the sleeve between a first position and a second position in response to an actuation signal; and a processor. The processor is operable to: receive a pressure distribution and an event quality indicator corresponding to an event of interest; determine an optimal grip based on the pressure distribution and the event quality indicator; select an actuator, of the distributed array of actuators, to be actuated based on the optimal grip; transmit the actuation signal to the actuator such that the shape of the sleeve is changed and the grip of the user is adjusted.

  • Publication number: 20220347275
Abstract: The present invention provides a methods and compositions for treating a patient having a skin condition characterized by vascular hyper-reactivity, such as chronic or episodic flushing or blushing, and/or rosacea. The method comprises applying a topical composition to affected areas of the patient's skin. The topical composition comprises an effective amount of a botulinum neurotoxin for decreasing vasodilation in cutaneous microvasculature, and a carrier for effectively transporting the botulinum toxin to the cutaneous microvasculature. The invention thereby provides a safe, effective, comfortable, and/or convenient manner of treating vascular hyper-reactivity in skin.

  • Patent number: 8667284
Abstract: A secure hash, such as a Hash-based Message Authentication Code (“HMAC”), is generated using a piece of secret information (e.g., a secret key) and a piece of public information specific to each escrow key (e.g., a certificate hash or public key). Using the secret key ensures that escrow key validation data can only be generated by knowing the secret key, which prevents an attacker from generating the appropriate escrow key validation data. Using the certificate hash as the public data ties each escrow key validation data to a particular certificate, thereby preventing the attacker from simply copying the validation data from another escrow key. Any escrow key that is found to be invalid may be removed from the file container and a system audit log may be generated so that a company, individual, or other entity can be aware of the possible attempt at a security breach.
