    Abstract: A communication system, a method, and a computer program product provide selecting and camping on primary band in idle mode in preparation for supporting a data connection for demanding application(s) to a network system. Preparation includes determining a communication demand requirement associated with the at least one application comprising at least one of data throughput greater than a throughput threshold and data latency less than a latency threshold. The communication system identifies, selects, and camps on the primary band in preparation for activation of the at least one application and configures the RF communication subsystem to use the at least one secondary band in preparation for activation of the at least one application and for establishment of the data connection with the communication network to operate in at least one of carrier aggregation mode and dual connection mode to satisfy a communication demand requirement.

    Abstract: A user device, a method, and a computer program product enable conditional requests by a user device based on predicting a radio link failure due to a terrestrial object. A communication subsystem of the user device receives communication service by a currently serving satellite of a constellation of satellites in low earth orbit (LEO). The serving satellite has a field of view encompassing a target area surrounding the user device. A controller of the communication device determines a location of the user device and tracks trajectories and corresponding fields of view of the constellation of LEO communication satellites. In response to predicting a radio link failure due to a terrestrial obstruction, the controller triggers completion of a conditional handover of radio link to a target satellite that is not predicted to have a radio link failure due to a terrestrial obstruction.

The communication device registers for cellular communication service using a first radio access technology (RAT) or sub-RAT with a first node. The communication device determines whether a connection for a selected communication service is predicted to be available from the first node. The communication device determines whether a request for the selected communication service is predicted to occur. In response to determining that the connection for the selected communication service is unavailable from the first node and the request for the selected communication service is predicted to occur, the communication device identifies a second node that supports communication using a second RAT/sub-RAT. The communication devices triggers registration fallback from the first node to the second node.

The near-end device captures voice audio from the user of the near-end device and adjusts the voice audio based at least in part on the digital representation of the background noise at the far-end device. The near-end device then transmits the adjusted voice audio to the far-end device for playback at the far-end device.

A carrier of the communication device determines a first transmit carrier, of at least two transmit carriers of a multiple transmit carrier mode, that is identified as having priority among the at least two transmit carriers. The controller identifies one or more transmit antenna configurations in the transmit antenna configuration data that support the first transmit carrier. The carrier determining, for each transmit antenna configuration, an aggregate antenna outage metric that indicates the transmit performance for a corresponding transmit antenna configuration. The controller configures an antenna switching network and RF frontend of a communication subsystem of the communication device with a first transmit antenna configuration that has a better aggregate antenna outage metric than other antenna configurations.

While sequentially transmitting, the controller monitors a measure of uplink signal quality at a network node for each sequentially changed phase shift or time delay values. Using a precoding matrix codebook for multiple-input multiple-output transmission, a controller of the communication device sequentially configures the first transmit chain to transmit an uplink signal and the second transmit chain to transmit the uplink signal with a different phase shift or time delay value.
