  • Publication number: 20180335166
Abstract: A bracket can be configured for use in a seismic cable sway bracing system to attach a bracing cable to a support structure or to an object to be braced. The bracket can include a base having a base aperture therethrough, and at least one arm integrally formed with and extending from the base. The at least one arm can have an arm aperture therethrough and can be angled upwardly relative to the base to inhibit deformation of the bracket under operating loads.

  • Patent number: 10087967
Abstract: The present invention is a clip for use with a strut that at least partially surrounds a hanger rod for the purpose of providing stiffness to the hanger rod. The clip includes a handle portion, a rod-clamping portion, and a fulcrum spaced away from the handle portion. The fulcrum is for being mounted to the strut. The rod-clamping portion is for forcing the hanger rod into tight engagement with an engagement surface of the strut in response to the handle being actuated to an operational position. The present invention also relates to a hanger rod stiffening system that uses a clip and a strut, whereby a handle of the clip is actuated to force a rod-clamping portion of the clip into tight engagement with an internal surface of the strut.

  • Patent number: 10036487
Abstract: A bracket for use in a seismic cable sway bracing system to attach a bracing cable to a support structure or to an object to be braced is disclosed. The bracket includes a planar base having a base aperture therethrough, and at least one planar arm integrally formed with and extending from the planar base. The at least one planar arm being angled upwardly relative to the planar base and having an arm aperture therethrough. The bracket is configured so that a ratio of a first distance to a second distance is about 1:1.2 or greater, the first distance being defined from a center of the base aperture to an edge of the planar base opposite the at least one planar arm in a pre-angled arrangement, and the second distance being defined from the center of the base aperture to a center of the arm aperture in the pre-angled arrangement.

  • Patent number: 7984534
Abstract: A seismic cable restraint clip attaches a seismic brace component, such as a cable, to a building structure. A bolt is typically used to attach the clip to the building structure. The restraint clip is constructed to reduce or eliminate multiplication of force applied from the cable to the bolt through the restraint clip.

  • Patent number: 7819364
Abstract: A preformed hanger rod stiffening clip that improves the strength and stability of hanger rods to withstand compression forces. Precisely positioned screw holes enable the clamping legs of the clip to close completely when the fastening assembly is tightened. Washers on each side of the respective clamping legs deform the legs tightly around the stiffening member and the hanger rod which is disposed between the stiffening member and fastening assembly. It has been found that hole placement for a screw that is used to tighten the apparatus onto the hanger rod and stiffening member is critical. Misalignment of position of the screw openings greater than or equal to 0.001 inches results in a clip that will fail standard AISC compression tests.

Edges of the clip are rounded and rolled to increase strength and prevent an installers hand from being cut on sharp edges.
