  • Patent number: 9775883
Abstract: Without limitation, some embodiments comprise a method of treatment for promoting recovery of peripheral neuropathy in a subject, including administering to a subject in need of such treatment a therapeutically effective amount of a composition comprised of thymosin beta 4, amino acid sequences LKKTET or LKKTNT, and/or any conservative variants thereof, or an agent that stimulates production of any of those materials, or a conservative variant thereof.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 21, 2012
Date of Patent: October 3, 2017
    Assignee: Henry Ford Health System
Inventors: Michael Chopp, Zhenggang Zhang, Daniel C. Morris, Lei Wang
  • Patent number: 9149509
Abstract: Thymosin ?4 can be used to treat neuronal and brain injuries that are accompanied by neuronal cell death or injury, including injuries caused by stroke or trauma and injuries caused by neurological and neurodegenerative disease. In particular, stroke and multiple sclerosis are examples of conditions which may be ameliorated by treatment with thymosin ?4. Thymosin ?4 has been found to restore neurological tissue through several effects on several neurological parameters which are improved by administration of thymosin ?4 to a subject in need of neurological tissue restoration. For example, thymosin ?4 improves axonal myelination, migration of neural progenitor cells, neural progenitor cell proliferation, differentiation of neural progenitor cells into mature neurons, differentiation of neural progenitor cells into mature glia, nerve regeneration, and brain remodeling at locations of brain injury.

  • Patent number: 6609487
Abstract: A composite o-ring seal enables a wiring harness to extend from an exterior of the valve cover to an interior portion of the valve cover. The composite o-ring seal has at least one wire and an outer casing molded about the at least one wire. An entry opening extends from the outer casing at a first location and an exit opening extends from the outer casing at a second location. The entry and exit openings allow the wire to extend from the outer casing so that it may be connected between components on opposing sides of the valve cover without having to modify the engine block or other components.

  • Patent number: 4926578
Abstract: A fishing lure having a V-shaped body, wings, tail and a hook designed to glide very slowly to the bottom of the water resembling an injured bait fish. The body and wings allow the lure to glide through the water, and the hook, acting as a keel, and the tail stabilize the lure to keep it from rolling and adds vibration to the lure as it descends through the water. The lure also has a weedless quality in that its flat design allows it to slide over thick weeds, lily pads or brush.

  • Patent number: 4553561
Abstract: A novel device for the control of flooding from drainage system overflow and a method of use are disclosed. The device is useful for limiting overflow from drainage structures, such as a sump well or sewer drain. The device includes at least one container segment that defines an enclosure for retaining excess flood water. The device also includes a cover and means for removably mounting the cover on the top of the container segment. Transition means are also provided to sealingly connect the container segment with an element below the container segment. In accordance with a method aspect of this invention, a flood control installation is made by attaching the device to an apron defining the opening about the well.
