  • Publication number: 20230272816
Abstract: An open loop connector 10 (to enlarged scale) having a leading end 11 and a trailing end 12 joined by a loop body part 13. A hook point portion 18 includes a sharp point 19 with an inward curve 20 so that with a downward stroke the point 19, which is projecting out from the loop, catches sheet material and its curve gives it reentrant function through the sheet. The trailing end 12 has an enlargement 21 which has a narrow slot 22. The hook point portion 18 faces the slot 22. The hook point portion 18 has an enlargement attachment as narrow outwardly facing relieved sections 23 and 24 matched to the slot 22 so that this narrow section may pass closely through the slot 22. The enlargement has an undercut 25 providing a shoulder 26 so that the hook portion may manually be extended to align the narrow relieved sections with the slot, the narrow section 23, 24 may then be pushed through the slot 22 and released back into the slot 22, the shoulder region 26 locks under shoulder 25 thereby closing the loop.

  • Patent number: 10711455
Abstract: Tiles 21 and 22 are laid up with other tiles in the usual way at and along the joint 18, the joint 18 comprises a female strip 23 and a male strip 24 each of which have fastening flanges 25 and 26 and respective 90° walls 27 and 28. A slot or rebate in the female section 29 holds an expandable seal, typically in this case a hydrophilic seal. The female part and the male parts are assembled for relative movement so that a small gap perhaps 2 mm at 31 may be accommodated while the the upper plate section 23 still provides a contiguous coplanar link between the parts.

  • Patent number: 8713877
Abstract: Edging strips for concrete floors employ parallel strips as lost formwork secured to removable timber formwork using a nailing bracket that has a horizontal plate section 32 and a vertical plate section 35, the horizontal plate section slides underneath one of the strips as the strips separate due to concrete contraction and supports a filler by bridging under the filler, the horizontal plate section comprises an elongate section of the horizontal plate section having lobes 33 and 34 at each end. These lobes are welded to the underside of one of the strips 11 or 12 with the other strip located on top of the elongate section. The vertical plate is a fixing plate 35 with predrilled holes for nailing to the timber form, the elongate section having tapered corners opposite each lobe and the vertical plate extending in a plane located between the lobes.

  • Publication number: 20090308005
Abstract: A headed loop anchor (10) comprising a “U” shaped section having parallel spaced legs (11 and 12) and a looped adjoining section (13), the free ends (14 and 15) having heads (16 and 17). The headed loop anchor is formed by bending and then forging the head from the legs so the anchor is an integral unit. In use, the headed loop anchors are positioned in parallel spaced relation so that the looped sections (13) project from a slab so that a suitable connector may be used to hook over the loop sections (13) in order to connect adjacent concrete sections together.

  • Publication number: 20090152522
Abstract: A fence assembly comprising a plurality of panels with a panel about to be connected to panel. The panel is shown in part with a dappled appearance at due to the inclusion of a shrink-wrap cover applied to the panel. All other panels also have a similar coating. The panel has a based form of a rigid mesh. The shrink-wrap material is applied to the mesh as a flat panel. The panel with the shrink-wrap so applied is then folded over at the top and bottom to form rail as a lower rail and an upper rail. The panels taper so the spacing between the upper and lower rails is wider at one end than the other so the panels are effectively left and right handed. A star picket is driven ground through the overlapping rails. A cap is applied to the posts and held by a retainer and pin.

  • Patent number: 5826391
Abstract: A formwork comprising a metal panel 11 having an upper portion 12, a lower portion 13 and a intermediate portion 14 displaced laterally out of the line of the panel 11, the portions 12 and 13 have spaced holes 15 through which reinforcing rods 16 project so that the ends of the reinforcing rods can be tied to similar rods in an adjacent slab to be poured in order to occupy the space at 17. A slab poured upon a timber deck 18 and the metal form provided by the panel 11 is retained in place by upright bracing rods 19 located at spaced intervals along the form 11 and passing through pairs of holes 20 and 21 in the intermediate section 14.

  • Patent number: 5687772
Abstract: An end cap comprising a hollow base section 11 which can be fitted over the end of a bar. A larger cap section 12 is attachable to the base section 11 to project radially outward therefrom. The base section 11 includes a braced intermediate cap section 13 having a slot 14 into which a bar 14a (shown in phantom) can be fitted using a hand insertable snap action. The intermediate cap section 13 includes an eyelet 15 into which a tab 16 of the cap 12 is fitted as the tab 16 is manually pulled downward as shown in phantom at 17. The enlarged cap section 12 is snap fitted in place via the downwardly projecting legs 18 being forced into the slot 14 so that the shoulders 19 engage the slot.
