  • Publication number: 20200281012
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for fast transmission by a UE of scheduling requests for low latency data transmission. When transmit data for transmission on an uplink shared channel arrives, the UE determines whether the scheduling request to be sent by the user equipment to request uplink resources for transmission of the data will overlap a scheduled data transmission. If it is determined that the scheduling request will overlap the scheduled data transmission, the UE may preempt the scheduled data transmission to transmit the scheduling request. Preemption may be based on one or more predetermined criteria including the priority of the new transmit data, the periodicity of the scheduling request interval, and the remaining duration of the ongoing data transmission.

  • Publication number: 20200252176
Abstract: In a wireless communication system (100), an access node (110) configures, for a user equipment, UE (105), each symbol in a slot (68a) individually as one of multiple possible symbol types. The types including an uplink symbol, a downlink symbol, and a different symbol. The access node (110) transmits, to the UE (105), a slot format indicator, SFI, specifying a number of downlink symbols in the slot (68a) and a number of uplink symbols in the slot (68a), and indicating whether or not the slot (68a) includes an unspecified number of different symbols. The UE (105) receives, from the access node (110), the SFI for the slot (68a), and determines the type of each of the symbols in the slot (68a) based on the number of uplink symbols and the number of downlink symbols.

  • Patent number: 10722431
Abstract: A medication dispensing system is provided and includes a medicine transfer device (MTD) and a controller. The MTD transfers medicine between first and second containers. The first container initially stores medicine. The controller: determines a first predetermined amount of medicine to be dispensed from the medicine dispensing system; causes the MTD to discharge a second predetermined amount of the medicine from the first container onto the MTD, and transfer a third predetermined amount of the medicine from the MTD to the second container; subsequent to the transfer of the third predetermined amount, determine whether the second container has greater than or equal to the first predetermined amount; and if the second container has less than the first predetermined amount, cause the MTD to transfer a portion of the medicine on the MTD into the second container or discharge a portion of the medicine in the first container onto the MTD.

  • Patent number: 10719423
Abstract: An apparatus and associated method are provided for application deployment assessment. In use, a plurality of deployment parameters associated with one or more applications, and a workload profile are received. Further, an application deployment specification is generated, based on the workload profile and the deployment parameters. Still yet, a type of one or more orchestrators on one or more systems is identified. The application deployment specification is processed, based on the identified type of the one or more orchestrators on the one or more systems. Further, the one or more processors execute the instructions to deploy, via an application program interface (API), the one or more applications to the one or more orchestrators on at least one of the one or more systems, and at least one workload generator to at least one of the one or more systems, utilizing the processed application deployment specification. Operational data is collected from one or more monitoring agents on the one or more systems.

  • Publication number: 20200163114
Abstract: In one aspect, a wireless device receives a scheduling grant and a grant confirmation signal indicating that a network node has performed a CCA on a carrier and is releasing the carrier for the wireless device. An uplink message is transmitted on the carrier without performing a CCA on the carrier. In another aspect, a wireless device is connected to a first cell and a second cell configured on a carrier requiring an LBT protocol. The wireless device receives configuration messages indicating that downlink transmissions on the second cell are to be scheduled. This can mean self-scheduling for downlink on the second cell and cross-carrier scheduling for uplink on the first cell. The wireless device receives a scheduling grant in the first cell and performs a CCA in the second cell. The wireless device then transmits an uplink message responsive to success of the CCA.
