  • Patent number: 9182473
Abstract: A system, method and product for determining a vehicle key fob location. The system may include a control unit for mounting in a vehicle and configured to receive multiple signals, each representing a strength of a wireless signal transmitted between the fob and one of multiple antennas located on a vehicle, and multiple neural networks having a cascade topology. The neural networks may include a first neural network for determining one of a vehicle internal position and a vehicle external position of the fob based on the wireless signal strengths, a second neural network in communication with the first neural network for determining one of multiple vehicle interior positions of the fob based on the wireless signal strengths, and a third neural network in communication with the first neural network for determining one of multiple vehicle exterior positions of the fob based on the wireless signal strengths.

  • Patent number: 8744482
Abstract: In at least one embodiment, an apparatus for determining a locating a wireless device with respect to a vehicle is provided. The apparatus comprises a controller for being operably coupled to a plurality of antennas in a vehicle and each antenna transmitting a first wireless signal to a wireless device to locate a primary antenna. The primary antenna being one of the plurality of antennas that transmitted the first wireless signal at a strongest signal strength. The controller being configured to store a first signal strength for a first control point that is positioned about the vehicle and away from the primary antenna. The controller being configured to determine the location of the wireless device based on a comparison of the first signal strength to the strongest signal strength.

  • Patent number: 8578043
Abstract: A wireless communication device for presenting alternative media during an out of signal condition is disclosed. The device comprising a receiver configured to receive a primary media stream. A memory coupled to the receiver to store a secondary media. A user interface to output one of the primary media stream and the secondary media stream. A detector module that detects when a first predetermined characteristic has been met, the characteristic preventing the output of the primary media stream received from the broadcast transmitter. A media selector module that selects between the primary media stream from the receiver and the secondary media from the memory in response to the detector module detecting that the first predetermined device characteristic has been met.
