  • Patent number: 8123460
Abstract: Electronic equipment frequently requires cooling to maintain the integrity and reliability of the equipment, and to elongate the life expectancy of the equipment. When in operation, the fan of a UAV creates airflow comprising outside air directed across the duct of the UAV. Utilizing this airflow generated by the fan of a UAV to provide heat transfer from a equipment enclosure accomplishes efficient heat transfer. The methods described herein for transferring heat from an equipment enclosure using an airflow generated by a fan of a UAV may be employed for UAVs having a variety of duct shapes, and having equipment enclosures inside the duct or in detachable equipment enclosures located on the duct of the UAV.

  • Publication number: 20050033250
Abstract: A patient monitoring system according to one embodiment includes a real-time wetness sensor configured to detect the rate of change in wetness occurring within an associated diaper, and automatically adjusting the sensitivity of the sensor to account for a wetness event unrelated to urination. A monitoring unit may be utilized in such a manner that the monitoring system controller-monitors the wetness sensor and generates data associated with detected-wetness events relative to the diaper. A wireless transmitter configured with the monitoring unit and in communication with the monitoring system controller may be further utilized to send the generated data, through a host computer, to a caregiver unit having a caregiver system controller in communication with the host computer. The caregiver can then check the status of the patient, provide a service, and annotate the patients history by transmitting the recorded observation and service provided back to the base station.

  • Publication number: 20020195723
Abstract: A bond pad structure includes a bond pad, an underlying metal layer and an insulating layer, normally a passivation layer extending between the metal and bond pad layers, the passivation layer perforated. Preferably, the perforations are hexagonal to produce a hexagonal matrix. To reduce or avoid deformation of the matrix during bonding, the hexagons are oriented relative to the bond pad axis, for example at 15°.

  • Patent number: 5919365
Abstract: A drinking container includes a flexible, hollow body having a neck. There is closure member removably connected to the neck. There is a spout on the closure member. A filter device is operatively connected to the spout within the body. The filter device includes a filter, a passageway bypassing the filter and a movable valve member in the passageway which opens the passageway when the container is in upright position when the spout is on top. The valve member blocks the passageway when the container is inverted from the upright position or pressurized.
