  • Patent number: 10088878
Abstract: A heat spreader which is configured using a composite of materials to provide localized heat spreading in certain directions across portions of the heat spreader while providing generalized heat spreading in multiple directions across other portions of the heat spreader. In certain embodiments, the localized heat spreading is across an XY plane and the generalized heat spreading is substantially continuous in XYZ directions.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: October 2, 2018
    Assignee: DELL PRODUCTS L.P.
Inventors: Deeder M. Aurongzeb, Daniel Coolidge, Richard C. Thompson
  • Patent number: 9939848
Abstract: A tablet information handling system detachable base couples with a tablet information handling system by inserting a trapezoidal-shaped support into a trapezoidal-shaped opening of the tablet information handling system. The smaller perimeter of the support has room to fit in the larger perimeter opening of the tablet information handling system for ease of insertion, yet the support snuggly fits into the opening after complete insertion. A latch couples the support with an inclined lower surface so that pulling on the tablet information handling system without releasing of the latch translates into a more secure latch coupling. A latch release timer allows one-handed detachment by maintaining the latch in a released position for a predetermined time after latch release actuation.

  • Patent number: 9761972
Abstract: An RF connector includes a conductive pin for carrying an RF signal. The conductive pin has a first longitudinal end that serves to interface with a male RF connector to receive the RF signal. The pin also includes a second longitudinal end for connecting with a printed circuit board (PCB). The second longitudinal end may be tapered, and the pin may have a groove formed above the tapered end. A housing encircles the conductive pin. The housing is shaped and sized to accept the male RF connector. A grounding element may be positioned on the bottom of the housing. The grounding element is to contact the PCB when the connector is connected to the PCB. The grounding element may be ring-shaped and soldered to the housing or epoxied to the housing.

  • Patent number: 9389654
Abstract: Various embodiments provide a circuit board module include a primary cover, a secondary cover and a circuit board sandwiched between the primary cover and the secondary cover. A first set of fins or channels may be provided on a surface of the primary cover. The first set of fins or channels guide cooling air flowing on the surface of the primary cover. A second set of fins or channels may be provided on a surface of the second cover. The second set of fins or channels guide the cooling air flowing on the surface of the secondary cover. The second set of fins or channels intermates with the first set of fins or channels to form a sealed casing enclosing the circuit board. The sealed casing forms a Faraday cage to protect the circuit board from electromagnetic interference.

  • Publication number: 20150309539
Abstract: An information handling system hinge assembly simulates synchronous and other types of motions by applying friction varied based upon dual-axis hinge rotational position to generate differential torque at an information handling system chassis and lid portion. A connecting device maintains first and second hinges in position relative to each other during rotation of the chassis and lid portions, such as through 360 degrees of rotation between closed and tablet positions.
