  • Patent number: 6529669
Abstract: A junction box for a single-tube cable, and particularly an optical fiber cable for the connection of one or several wires or fibers of the cable to one or several wires or fibers of another cable. The box has a hollow support (3) suitable for a tensioned connected cable crossing (C) and a spacer (2) to hold the casing of the axially cut cable spread inside the hollow support (3) to free the cable wires or fibers (F). Application to the installation and maintenance of cable networks is also described.

  • Patent number: 6426462
Abstract: A device for connection between the ends of tubes (2) protecting one or more cables (9) and a box (4), has a flexible sheath (3) that makes it possible, at the exit from the tubes (2), to connect the cables (9) coming from the tubes (2) to the box in providing for the protection of the said cables (9) and enabling the moving away of the box (4) to be accessed.

  • Patent number: 6415092
Abstract: An access box for one or more optic fibers in a tensioned cable has a structural section that integrates the passing cable and has a central connection system area demarcated by two connection bases to which there are connected a plurality of cleaved optic fibers. The connection system area has a plurality of mini-cables providing for the shuffling of the cleaved optic fibers and/or a plurality of branching cables providing for the branch connection of the cleaved optic fibers. A box of this kind can be used for the shuffling and/or branch connection of a plurality of optic fibers on a tensioned cable, when the cable is being laid or subsequently.

  • Patent number: 5598500
Abstract: Device for fixing, earthing end sealing the end of an optical cable, including at least one optical module, an outer jacket, especially made of relatively deformable plastic, having a cylindrical general shape, freely surrounding the optical module consisting of a set of adjacent fibres which are independent or preferably housed in a confinement sheath, and at least one reinforcing element having a high mechanical strength, in particular a high tensile strength, in order to take up and absorb the forces exerted on the cable without transferring them to the optical module, wherein it includes an immobilizing member operating by clamping the jacket from outside the latter, at least one hollow protective sealing plug capable of being placed around and possibly crimped onto a part of the reinforcing element that extends from the front end of the jacket which has been cut beforehand in order to strip the optical module, this plug including a flange, possibly protruding, bearing against a plane surface made on the

  • Patent number: 5526833
Abstract: A device for degreasing pieces such as optical fibers of a stripped cable comprises a tank containing a liquid solvent in which the pieces are immersed, a pressurized gas container having a gas outlet nozzle, a receptacle for holding the container vertical with the nozzle at the bottom, and a diffuser for gas passing from the nozzle into the liquid solvent below the pieces. The gas diffused into the solvent is cold and causes turbulence of the solvent. The grease is detached from the pieces and falls into a cavity.
