The slave digital terminal can access the protected data only if information necessary for accessing the data and received by the master digital terminal is sent by way of link (3) to the slave digital terminal within a predetermined deadline. This information is in particular access entitlements to television services or keys for descrambling the service.

Abstract: In a process for controlling an audio/video digital decoder, a digital audio/video stream is acquired continuously, the video part of which is composed of an ordered sequence of images, a video decoding of all the images of the sequence is carried out and a video signal based on only part of the images of the sequence is generated without however interrupting the playing of the audio sequence.

Abstract: In a method for generating a video signal to be displayed applicable in a video decoder according to which, under a freeze command or a channel switching command, the latest frame received is recorded in the still plane of the decoder then this still plane is activated for display and the video plane is deactivated. This enables the elimination of the display of an intermediate black screen usually displayed during the audio/video synchronization phase at the time of a channel hop or continuation after freeze frame.
