  • Patent number: 10717181
Abstract: An apparatus including a head having a hammering portion and an oppositely arranged claw portion, the claw portion curving downwardly and away from the top side of the head toward the handle and including a back end with at least four flat ended teeth separated by at least three, substantially equal “V”-shaped grooves centered on a longitudinal axis of the head with inner edges of each of the “V”-shaped grooves being tapered along opposite sides of the “V”-shaped groove from adjacent a front of each of the at least four teeth toward a sharp notch formed at a junction of the sides of the “V”-shaped groove and from a top side of each of the at least four teeth inwardly toward a bottom side of each of the at least four teeth, the outer two of the at least four teeth having substantially equal terminal widths that are wider than the at least inner two of the at least four teeth and all of the at least four teeth being substantially equal in length.

  • Patent number: 6216819
Abstract: A kneeling board having a replaceable anti-slip pad for use on sloping surfaces is provided wherein the kneeling board is provided with a sheet or layer of hook fasteners of the hook-and-loop type fastener system disposed on underside thereof, and wherein a replaceable anti-slip pad is provided having a sheet or layer of the complementary loop elements provided on a flat surface thereof. The anti-slip pad is constructed of a high density, closed-cell foam that provides greatly improved traction on roofing surfaces, thereby improving the ability to securely place the kneeling board on the sloping surface without substantial slipping, which improves worker safety and productivity or efficiency. The kneeling board has a kneeling pad disposed on an upper surface thereof, and has a foothold projection extending upwardly from the upper surface at an edge of the board, and at a distance spaced apart from the kneeling pad, so as to create a channel into which the worker may secure his feet.

  • Patent number: 5996252
Abstract: A shoe having a replaceable sole pad for use by roofers is provided wherein the shoe has a thin lower flexible portion with a sheet or layer of hook fasteners of the hook-and-loop type fastener system disposed on a bottom surface thereof, and having a band secured thereto extending around a periphery of the shoe, and wherein a replaceable sole pad is provided having a sheet or layer of the corresponding loop elements provided on an upper surface thereof. The sole pad is constructed of a high density, closed-cell foam that provides greatly improved traction on roofing surfaces, thereby improving worker safety and productivity or efficiency, and provides adequate durability to make the shoe with the replaceable soles cost justifiable, when factoring in the improved productivity. The sole pad is installed and removed from the shoe in the conventional manner in which two object are fastened and unfastened by the use of hook-and-loop fasteners.
