Patent number: 9715753Abstract: Augmented reality is used to simulate the impact of medical conditions on body parts and other objects within images taken of the objects. The simulations enable a user to see how a medical condition can affect the user by dynamically simulating the impact of the medical condition on captured images of body parts associated with the user in real-time. A user can select different medical conditions that are associated with different body parts. These objects are then identified within images containing the body parts using image recognition algorithms and/or user input. Thereafter, the images are modified so as to render the body parts as though the body parts were being impacted by the medical condition. The modifications are made by blending image data of the captured image with condition image data available to the processing system.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 2016Date of Patent: July 25, 2017Assignee: ORCA HEALTH, INC.Inventors: Matthew M. Berry, Daniel D. Lyman, Gary L. Robinson

Publication number: 20140372955Abstract: Embodiments herein provide information about a medical condition based on user input. A user is presented with an anatomical assembly representing an anatomical region of the human body. The presentation includes user-selectable display elements which, when selected, indicate an area in the anatomical assembly representing areas in which a medical symptom is experienced in the human body. Upon receiving user input selecting one of the user-selectable elements of the anatomical assembly, the user is presented with a selection of a medical condition corresponding to the selected element of the anatomical assembly. The user is also presented with information about a medical specialist corresponding to the medical condition.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 4, 2014Publication date: December 18, 2014Inventors: Matthew M. Berry, Robert M. Berry, Wesley D. Chapman, Shawn B. Saunders, Michael V. Caldwell, Spencer T. Hall, Christopher T. Owens, Daniel D. Lyman, Darren L. Turetzky

Patent number: 8908943Abstract: Interfaces and other systems are provided to receive input corresponding to anatomical elements. The anatomical elements are rendered on the interfaces or other systems with visual, audio and/or haptic feedback. Simulations of the anatomical elements can reflect the impact of existing and anticipated conditions. Personalized conditions and other data can also be used to modify and personalize the simulations and other output. Various controls are provided by the interfaces and systems to access and modify settings associated with personalized and generalized condition input data. Some simulations incorporate real-time data to mimic personalized anatomical elements.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 2012Date of Patent: December 9, 2014Assignee: Orca Health, Inc.Inventors: Matthew M. Berry, Robert M. Berry, Daniel D. Lyman

Patent number: 8843852Abstract: In one aspect, annotating graphical elements can include displaying a graphical element at a user interface which provides annotation options for selecting areas for annotation, and options for adding highlighting and comments. A user uses the annotation options to select areas of the graphical element for annotation, to select highlighting and user input methods, to and provide comments. After receiving the user input, the graphical elements can be displayed along with the selected annotations. In another aspect, providing information about medical conditions can include presenting a user interface that includes a representation of an anatomical region of the human body. A user can use user-selectable display elements to indicate areas in the anatomical region in which a medical condition is experienced. After receiving the user input, the user can be presented with a selection of medical conditions corresponding to the selected areas, as well as information about medical specialists.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2011Date of Patent: September 23, 2014Assignee: Orca Health, Inc.Inventors: Matthew M.
