  • Patent number: 9885378
Abstract: The present screw anchor advantageously has two fins radially extending from the body of the screw anchor, where the fins additionally extend above the top end of the body. This unique fin design permits the user to drive the screw anchor into the worn screw hole within a wood substrate so that the screw anchor is substantially flush or recessed within the worn screw hole. When the fins are aligned with the grain of the wood, the fins split the wood at the grain and prevent rotation of the screw anchor. Because the screw anchor is flush or recessed, the anchor does not interfere with the installation of hardware overtop the anchor, such as a hinge. Furthermore, the original screw, such as in the case of a door hinge, can be reused to create an invisible repair.

  • Publication number: 20170059343
Abstract: A forest fire real-time escape route planning system may include a processor that receives real-time Geographical Information System data. The system may include a firefighter endurance and route-planning model for determining, based on data received by the processor, one or more firefighter evacuation routes to one or more safe areas. The model may determine a rating for each evacuation route based on a degree of risk. The model may predict a rate of fire progression based on fire fuel proximate the fire. They system may include a transmitting device for communicating the one or more firefighter evacuation routes along with the rating for each evacuation route to a mobile device. The mobile device may be configured to display the one or more firefighter evacuation routes overlaid on a map depicting a current location of a firefighter relative to the fire.

  • Patent number: 9251587
Abstract: A motion determination system is disclosed. The system may receive a first and a second camera image from a camera, the first camera image received earlier than the second camera image. The system may identify corresponding features in the first and second camera images. The system may receive range data comprising at least one of a first and a second range data from a range detection unit, corresponding to the first and second camera images, respectively. The system may determine first positions and the second positions of the corresponding features using the first camera image and the second camera image. The first positions or the second positions may be determined by also using the range data. The system may determine a change in position of the machine based on differences between the first and second positions, and a VO-based velocity of the machine based on the determined change in position.

  • Publication number: 20140228089
Abstract: Systems and methods conduct a wagering game having a game set of numbers and a bonus track. A player selects a selection set of numbers from the game set. An outcome set of numbers from the game set is randomly generated. The player is rewarded, based upon a pay table, for matches between numbers in the selection set and the outcome set. If a bonus trigger condition is fulfilled, a bonus element uses a spinner to randomly determine movement of a game piece around the bonus track to identify a bonus feature that is implemented to further engage the player.
