Abstract: Systems and methods may determine whether contagion(s) are being spread within a vehicle using sound and/or other sensor data. The vehicle may include sensors, such as microphones, cameras, and the like, that continuously or periodically monitor sound and other conditions in an interior of the vehicle and generate sensor data for use in determining whether contagion(s) have been introduced into the vehicle. In the case of sound, audio data generated by the microphones, for example, may represent acoustic characteristic(s) associated with the sound(s) produced by the occupant(s). The introduction of contagion(s) may be used when determining whether to perform action(s) associated with sanitizing the vehicle and/or otherwise reducing a spread of viruses, bacteria, and/or germs among the occupant(s) and/or within the vehicle.

Abstract: Techniques are described in which sensor data is used to determine one or more of background noise or occupancy associated with a passenger cabin of a vehicle. The sensor data, in turn, is used to determine an operating state for one or more components of the vehicle (e.g., pumps, compressors, fans, blowers, etc.) such that an amount of background noise within the passenger cabin is reduced (e.g., when a passenger/occupant is present). In various examples, the operating state of the component may operate in a different, though louder, state (e.g., higher efficiency, greater power, etc.) when an occupant is not present or proximate the component.

Abstract: Systems and methods cause a component of a vehicle to activate. The systems and methods receive audio data generated by a microphone of the vehicle, where the audio data represents sound of the component. Based on the audio data, a condition of the vehicle or the component may be determined, and based on the condition, the vehicle may be commissioned for use or decommissioned.
