Abstract: According to a first aspect of the present invention, there is provided a device arranged to provide a specific output in response to a specific input, the device comprising: a physical unclonable function, arranged to be challenged with an input and to provide an output in response to that input; the device being arranged to facilitate the detection of a unique output of the physical unclonable function, by a detection arrangement, in response to the specific input; an offset arrangement, configured to receive the unique output, and provide a specific offset to the unique output, in order to provide the specific output of the device in response to the specific input to the device.
