  • Publication number: 20150345667
Abstract: A spacer assembly includes first and second clamping bodies. The first clamping body has a first slot. The first slot has a first set of teeth. The second clamping body has a second slot. The fastener connects the first clamping body to the second clamping body. The fastener has a second set of teeth to engage the first set of teeth such that rotation of the fastener moves the first clamping body relative to the second clamping body.

  • Publication number: 20150229113
Abstract: A clamp for a spacer-damper includes a first jaw and a second jaw connected to the first jaw. The first jaw has a first clamping surface and a first aperture. The first aperture retains the fastener in an initial position and in a second position spaced latterly from said initial position. The second jaw has a second clamping surface and an open-ended second aperture. The second aperture receives the fastener in the second position. The first jaw may also include a keeper surface for receiving the fastener in an initial position, a keeper pocket for receiving the fastener in a second position and a keeper protrusion is positioned between the keeper surface and the keeper pocket.

  • Publication number: 20140262497
Abstract: An electrical connector for a composite core conductor and a method of controlling crimping thereof includes a coupling portion and a tubular portion extending from the coupling portion. A conductor has a non-metallic core surrounded by electrically conductive strands and has a connecting portion of the core extending axially beyond the strands. The connecting portion is received in the tubular portion. A crimped portion on the tubular portion radially engages the connecting portion and secures the conductor to the tubular portion. The crimped portion is formed by concave surfaces on internal surfaces of crimping dies. The concave surfaces have different radii of curvature than remaining portions of the internal surfaces.

  • Patent number: 8777679
Abstract: An electrical connector includes a body having a crimpable tubular portion. A bore is formed in the tubular portion. A plurality of partially cylindrical jaw segments are disposable in the bore. The plurality of jaw segments form an opening for receiving a cable. A nose guide is disposable in the bore to facilitate retaining the plurality of jaw segments in the body.

  • Patent number: 8507814
Abstract: A resistance device for an electrical switch assembly includes a housing having a base and first and second support brackets extending outwardly therefrom. The base receives first and second conductive blades of the electrical switch assembly. A cam member is movably connected to the first and second supporting brackets. First and second spring members are connected between the base and the cam member and bias the cam member away from the base. The amount of force required to open and close the switch assembly is increased by having to overcome the resistance force imparted by the first and second spring members on the cam member during rotation of the conductive blades.

  • Publication number: 20130067744
Abstract: A spacer assembly includes first and second clamping bodies. The first clamping body has a first slot therein and the second clamping body has an opening. A fastener is received by the first clamping body slot and the second clamping body opening to secure the first clamping body to the second clamping body such that rotation of the fastener moves the fastener in the first clamping body slot to move the first clamping body relative to the second clamping body.

  • Patent number: 6303861
Abstract: A grounding connector includes a frame with upper and lower arms cantilevered from a center section to form a channel adapted to receive a section of a structural steel member. The frame has a conductor receiving region in each of the cantilevered arms, each conductor receiving region being a slot extending through the frame having a longitudinal axis aligned substantially parallel to the frame. The conductor receiving slot on one side of the frame is sized to receive a conductor of a first size and the conductor receiving slot on the other side is sized to receive a conductor of a different size. The conductor receiving regions are located so that when the upper arm and the lower arm are compressed to grip the section of the structural steel member received in the channel, the conductor is crimped to the frame.

  • Patent number: 5898131
Abstract: An electrical connector with a first U-shaped section and a second section. The first and second sections each have a conductor receiving channel. The channels have center axes that extend along parallel planes, but are angled relative to each other. One embodiment has the second section with a U-shape orientated generally reverse to the first section and sharing a common bottom. A set of compression dies are provided to allow the first and second sections to be compressed onto respective conductors at the same time.
