  • Patent number: 10876049
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for producing mixtures of hydrocarbons and aromatic compounds for subsequent use as fuel components (preferably in the C5-C16 range) by catalytic conversion of the oxygenated compounds contained in aqueous fractions derived from primary biomass treatments, which can comprise at least the following steps: (i) bringing the aqueous mixture containing the oxygenated compounds derived from biomass in contact with a catalyst comprising at least W and/or Nb, and combinations of Nb and W with other elements, (ii) reacting the mixture with the catalyst in a catalytic reactor at temperatures between 50° C. and 450° C. and under pressures of 1 to 120 bar; and (iii) recovering the products obtained by a liquid/liquid separation process of the aqueous and organic phases.

  • Patent number: 9854003
Abstract: A system and method of establishing and controlling a telecommunications or multimedia communications sessions over a conventional call signaling protocol is employed to enable such a communications session to the initiated and managed between participants through translated resource identifiers. The method of establishing and controlling a telecommunications or multimedia communications sessions over a conventional call signaling protocol is employed in one embodiment through the provision of a database which includes resource records linked together by user which include an email address and corresponding URIs, the retrieval of a corresponding URI upon the generation of a session invitation which identifies its target recipient by email address, the transmitting of the session invitation to the retrieved URI, and notifying the target recipient by sending a message to the email address used to generate the session invitation.

  • Publication number: 20170180461
Abstract: A system and method for initiating a VPN connection for the purposes of establishing an indirect connection to a network resource through the VPN includes an initiation device, an end target, and a VPN server. The process through which a VPN connection is initiated in order to establish a connection to a network destination through the VPN begins with the initiation device being directed to or otherwise attempting the access a target network destination. This connection attempt is then held, either because the destination is blocked or because it defines a secure address that requires a secure connection. Then, the initiation device contacts a VPN server and establishes a connection to the VPN server's network. Once connected to the VPN server's network, the initiation device allows the connection to be made to the target network destination through the initiation device's connection the VPN server's network.

  • Publication number: 20050263934
Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming three dimensional objects by laser sintering that includes depositing the required quantities of powder for two successive layers on one side of the process chamber and simultaneously spreading the first layer while transporting the second layer quantity to the opposite side of the process chamber. The invention includes steps of parking the quantities of powder in sight of the part bed heater to pre-heat the powder and flattening the powder wave before the pre-heating step to improve pre-heat efficiency. This method and apparatus can result in reduction of the mechanisms, size, cost, and increase productivity of a laser-sintering device.

  • Patent number: 6044311
Abstract: A system for protecting an aircraft in cruising flight against excessive load factors when a vertical gust of wind occurs is disclosed. The system has a pitch-attitude flight control system (21) which is under the control of a pilot of the aircraft, an automatic pilot (26), a switch (25) allowing the aerodynamic pitch-attitude control surfaces (22) of the aircraft to be controlled either by the flight control system (21) or by the automatic pilot (26), and a protection system (31) capable of acting on the switch (25) to disconnect the automatic pilot (26) and switch on the flight control system (21). The disconnection of the automatic pilot (26) and the switching-on of the flight control system (21) is delayed by a delay time which is at least approximately equal to a typical duration of a vertical gust of wind, and the switching-on of the flight control system (21) is not carried out unless the gust of wind persists when the delay time has elapsed.

  • Patent number: 5995880
Abstract: An apparatus and method for detecting vertical gusts of wind on board an aircraft in cruising flight is disclosed. The method includes the steps of: calculating an absolute value (.vertline..alpha.-.theta..vertline.) of a difference between a pair of first differentials with respect to time (.alpha. and .theta.) of a current incidence .alpha. and a current pitch attitude .theta. of the aircraft, comparing the absolute value to an upper threshold (Ss), comparing a current Mach number (M) of the aircraft to a Mach number threshold (Mo), and generating an electrical signal that represents presence of a vertical gust of wind when the absolute value is above the upper threshold, when the current Mach number is above the Mach number threshold, and when aerodynamic flaps and slats of the aircraft are in a clean configuration.
