  • Publication number: 20040247213
Abstract: A disk drive motor having a capillary bearing seal is provided. In one embodiment, a disk drive motor includes a stationary assembly and a rotating assembly having a fluid dynamic journal bearing disposed therebetween. A capillary seal is defined proximate an upper end of the journal bearing and coupled to at least one re-circulation path. The capillary seal is configured to advantageously retain lubricating fluids within the motor when the motor is subjected to lateral shock.

  • Patent number: 6704989
Abstract: A transportable electronic sign display system and process where electronic display modules are encased in castered protective cases which are broken down on site and assembled in rows of desired length and stackably elevated and maneuvered by a lifting truss. Electronic display modules are lifted from protective case bases with minimal effort or labor. Various numbers of rows of desired length of electronic display modules can be stacked to form a desired display size.

  • Patent number: 5809256
Abstract: A soft power switch for insertion and removal of a logic unit in a system during continuing operation of the system, including a current switch for each supply voltage to the logic unit that is to be protected, each current switch having a current input connected from a corresponding system power source and a current output connected to the logic unit. The switch includes a gate drive delay connected to each current switch that provides a gate signal controlling the flow of current through each current switch, and a connector having staggered connector pins for sequenced connection of power and control signals as the logic unit is inserted or withdrawn, the soft switch responding to the sequence of control and power signals by controllably and gradually increasing or decreasing the current through the current switches as the logic unit is inserted or withdrawn.

  • Patent number: 4120109
Abstract: A device for holding a cartridge magazine in an extended position and properly oriented for easy insertion into a firearm. The holder can be supported on the person of a user or it can be mounted on a structure which might be part of a vehicle, a boat, or an aircraft. The magazine can be quickly snatched from the holder by hand, or it can be inserted by moving the firearm so as to encompass the magazine, which can then be removed from the holder by moving the firearm.

  • Patent number: 4109401
Abstract: Devices to indicate the presence of cartridges in firearms magazines, or to indicate that the magazine is empty. A magazine is shown with a translucent casing for storing cartridges. Means are disclosed to count cartridges within such a casing. A cartridge follower is disclosed having brilliant coloration thereon to indicate by its location in the casing whether or not the magazine is empty.

  • Patent number: 4107863
Abstract: Means for engaging a cartridge magazine with a support in a convenient attitude for ready insertion into a firearm. In order that insertion may be accomplished by moving either the firearm or the magazine, or both, the engagement means is so located relative to the magazine that it can not interfere with complete insertion.

  • Patent number: 4045985
Abstract: Apparatus for making barbed material by tractive magnetic means. A work piece of ferrous or other magnetic material is prepared with slits intersecting its edges. The work piece is passed through a guide channel in the apparatus. Along the divergent sides of the channel are contact pieces magnetized by electromagnets. The contact pieces attract the edges of the strip and deform pointed portions out from the strip. The apparatus includes mechanism for moving the strip in a predetermined manner. This abstract is prepared to facilitate searching and it is not to be construed as a limitation of the invention.
