Abstract: A device for use in a building management system (BMS) is a controller device. The device includes a base comprising a first processor and a base interface, the first processor being configure to provide control operations for a device in the building system, and a first module installable on and removable from the base. The first module includes a first module interface for receiving power from and communicating with the base via the base interface. In some embodiments, the device includes an optional a second module installable on and removable from the base, the second module comprising a second module interface for receiving power from and communicating with the base via the base interface.

Abstract: A system that includes a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system that includes a sensor system within the HVAC system. The refrigerant sensor system includes a refrigerant sensor that detects the presence of an amount of refrigerant in the HVAC system and a control system that receives the amount of refrigerant detected from the refrigerant sensor. The control system also determines the amount of refrigerant exceeds a threshold value. Additionally, the control system sends one or more output signals to one or more components that are configured to couple to one or more devices that are part of the HVAC system. The one or more components are configured to cause the one or more devices to adjust operations based on the state of the components. The sensor system also includes a housing that encloses the refrigerant sensor and control system.

Abstract: An optical sensor, for positioning and holding an optical source and optical detector on opposite sides of a patient's finger or other extremity includes a clothespin-like housing having opposed housing members. The optical source and optical detector are embedded, respectively, in separate, opposed contact pads. The contact pads are mounted on the opposed housing members. A detent mechanism and a carrier associated with each of the housing members and contact pads allows the contact pads to be detached from the housing for cleaning or repair. A pivot mechanism that permits limited lateral as well as rotational movement of the housing members relative to each other allows the sensor to accommodate fingers of varying sizes.
