  • Publication number: 20240068494
Abstract: The present invention provides a controller for hydraulic apparatus (100). The controller is configured to determine (310) that an energy return criteria has been met by movement of a first movement component of a first hydraulic actuator. In response thereto, the controller is further configured to select (320) at least one among a plurality of energy control strategies based on at least one operational characteristic of the hydraulic apparatus, and to control (330) the hydraulic apparatus to implement the energy control strategy during movement of the first movable component in such a way as to meet the energy return criteria. The plurality of energy control strategies comprises a first energy control strategy and a second energy control strategy. The at least one operational characteristic of the hydraulic apparatus comprises an indication of an expected energy recovery of one or more of the energy control strategies.

  • Patent number: 10586384
Abstract: Architecture that enables the preservation of label readability in a scene (e.g., map, map tiles, graphical background, etc.) by way of label orientation relative to a fixed heading on a plane or curved surface. After identifying an initial fixed heading, movement of the camera (e.g., zoom-in, zoom-out, position change, etc.) in the scene along that heading without changing the camera heading as measured relative to a fixed point does not alter label orientation. In a mapping implementation, after identifying an initial fixed camera heading over terrain of the Earth, movement of the camera (e.g., zoom-in, zoom-out, position change, etc.) in the scene without changing the camera heading as measured relative to some fixed point does not change label orientation. The orientation of labels may be changed if the heading of the camera is altered, but this change is delayed until camera movement quiesces.

  • Publication number: 20200036762
Abstract: Individuals may utilize devices to engage in conversations about topics respectively associated with a location (e.g., restaurants where the individuals may meet for dinner). Often, the individual momentarily withdraws from the conversation in order to issue commands to the device to retrieve and present such information, and may miss parts of the conversation while interacting with the device. Additionally, the individual often explores such topics individually on a device and conveys such information to the other individuals through messages, which is inefficient and error-prone. Presented herein are techniques enabling devices to facilitate conversations by monitoring the conversation for references, by one individual to another (rather than as a command to the device), to a topic associated with a location. In the absence of a command from an individual, the device may automatically present a map alongside a conversation interface showing the location(s) of the topic(s) referenced in the conversation.

  • Patent number: 10331289
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a system and method for optimizing a developer's ability to find and navigate relevant documents, relationships, and other information related to an identifier in the code they are developing. An inline viewport is presented to the user in response to the user selecting an identifier in the code whereby the user is able to see relevant information related to the identifier in a spatially consistent location with the code they are investigating. Further, the developer has the ability to make changes to the code in the viewport without leaving the current editor.

  • Patent number: 10275122
Abstract: Architecture that enables a card interaction model that can present cards in different ways. When a user performs tasks, new stacked cards (one card on top of another card) corresponding to those tasks open in a left pane over the top of a background canvas (a card overlay of the underlying canvas). Users can scroll through the card stack of the card overlay to retrieve previous cards. Additionally, in an alternative viewing mode, a user can interact with the card overlay via an interactive affordance (an interactive object made available to facilitate a potential action) to enable viewing (e.g., an overview) of the cards in a side-by-side card overlay manner to further enable the opening and quick navigation to one of the previous cards. The architecture has applicability to mapping systems where searches range over many different geographical sites.

  • Patent number: 9482548
Abstract: One or more techniques and/or systems are provided for populating a map interface with a route inspection portal and/or for generating travel route video. In an example, a map interface is populated with a map canvas illustrating a travel route. The map canvas is populated with inspection markers corresponding to imagery depicting travel route portions of the travel route. Responsive to identifying a selection of an inspection marker at an inspection location, imagery depicting the inspection location may be identified. The map canvas is populated with a route inspection portal for the inspection marker. The route inspection portal is populated with the imagery (e.g., street-side imagery of an intersection along the travel route). In an example, a travel route video, comprising video frames corresponding to an ordering of the imagery (e.g., from a start location to an end location) along the travel route, may be generated and/or played.

  • Publication number: 20160132567
Abstract: Map multi-search architecture that enables users to multi-task on the mapping engine website. A card interaction model enables the creation of new cards for new tasks and from which users can retrieve previous results without needing to redo the search task. One or more cards can be retrieved by scrolling through and selecting the desires card(s). Point-of-interest (POI) capabilities of the architecture introduce different POI colors, POI sizes, and a decay model which enables users to differentiate between different sets of results and furthermore, enables users to see the proximity of different sets of results. The POI system enables differentiated POI sets for different sets of search results and/or detail cards.

  • Publication number: 20160092518
Abstract: Architecture that enables increased content presentation as part of the results where the results returned are insufficient to fill the results page being presented. An analysis component can be provided and configured to compute excess presentation space of a results area, where the results area comprises map results having content presented in association with a map. A content component presents additional content in the results area based on availability of the excess presentation space of the results area. The additional content and map results are limited to a maximum presentation space of the results area. The additional content includes portions of content individually relevant to corresponding map results and the portions of content are distributed in equivalent amounts of space among the map results.
