  • Patent number: 10384858
Abstract: A high flow valve for use in conjunction with a compressed gas, an aerosol or in bag-on-valve applications, and particularly to a valve having a housing that is supported by a mounting cup for a product container or can, and communicates with a product or product containment bag inside the can. A radial opening or orifice of the valve is positioned closer to a lower seal of the valve stem, rather than an upper seal or mounting cup gasket, to facilitate an increased flow rate for dispensing the product from the container and the valve.

  • Patent number: 10287088
Abstract: An improved mounting cup and valve assembly combination for an aerosol container. The combination comprises a mounting cup which has a pedestal portion and a perimeter curl, a valve stem which has a product outlet and at least one radial orifice formed therein which communicates with the product outlet, an open ended valve body defining an interior chamber, the valve body has a dip tube coupling adjacent a partially closed base thereof, and the dip tube coupling facilitates conveying product to be dispensed into the interior chamber of the valve body, and a gasket is sandwiched between the mounting cup and the valve body. The base of the valve body forms a first seat while a surface of the valve stem, facing toward the dip tube coupling, forms a second seat. A rubber compressible member is captively retained between the first and the second seats.

  • Patent number: 10138050
Abstract: A dispensing valve comprising a metering valve for a pressurized aerosol application. The dispensing valve comprises a mounting cup, a gasket, a valve body and a valve housing defining a cavity. The valve housing is captively retained by the mounting cup and a spring biasing the valve body against the gasket into a normally closed position. A lower portion of the valve housing communicating with the product to be dispensed. A valve stem is coupled to the valve body and an actuator is supported by the valve stem. The metering valve is delimited by a metering valve seat and a stop. A metering member is movable, within the metering chamber, to dispense a predetermined quantity of product. The metering valve seat comprising at least one micro vent which facilitates supplying air to the metering valve seat to break a seal formed by surface tension of the product to be dispensed.

  • Patent number: 9604773
Abstract: An actuator which comprises an actuator outlet, a post located within the actuator outlet which extends normal to a base surface of the actuator outlet, and the post comprises diametrically opposed first and second alignment protrusions. An insert is mounted and securely retained within the actuator outlet by an interference fit and the base of the insert has a discharge nozzle formed therein. First and second alignment protrusions space the insert away from the post and define a partially restricted flow passages while unobstructed product flow passages are defined one either side of the second alignment protrusions. The first and second stepped shoulders are axially respectively aligned with the first partially restricted flow passage while the first and second conical surface are respectively axially aligned with unobstructed flow passages so that the product to be dispensed, upon being discharged, is sprayed by the nozzle in a fan spray pattern.

  • Patent number: 9254954
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a metering valve used in both conventional and bag-on-valve aerosol container applications that allows a high flow rate of especially viscous substances. The metering valve according to the present invention including a valve housing, a valve stem, and a spring or other biasing device that allows the valve stem to move relative to the valve housing. The valve stem serves as a metering chamber with a metering device in the form of a ball or disk without other mechanisms such as springs or mechanical parts within the valve stem. Radial bores and a seal near the bottom of the valve stem provide for dispensing of pre-determined quantities of product from an aerosol container pressurized with liquefied propellants or compressed gas. The bore shape and size can be selected to facilitate a high volume flow rate for highly viscous substances.

  • Patent number: 8678248
Abstract: A metering valve having a contiguous double wall structure including an inner wall defining the metering chamber and an outer wall which defines a crimping and support wall against which the inner rim of the mounting cup of the container can be crimped. The outer wall may be maintained at the same diameter and thickness for use with generally any mounting cup which are approximately an inch in diameter as well as any mounting process and machinery. The inner wall may however be sized differently in order to accommodate different dosages for metering of product. A radial space between the inner and outer wall permits the both the axial elongation of the metering chamber as well as a radial expansion of the inner wall and hence the valve chamber relative to the outer wall due to the space between the inner and outer wall.

  • Patent number: 8590755
Abstract: A pressure regulated flow valve which compensates for the decreasing internal pressure inside a pressurized product dispensing container using substantially insoluble compressed gas. Where the internal pressure within the pressurized product dispensing container decreases below a certain threshold pressure, the pressure regulated valve provides for an increase in the flow of the product being dispensed from the pressurized container via the pressure regulated flow valve.

  • Patent number: 8292121
Abstract: A two-way valve and fitment for engaging a valve with a flexible product dispensing bag and particularly to a valve body formed in conjunction with the fitment to facilitate both the sealing of the bag to the fitment as well as filling the bag with a product to be dispensed therefrom and subsequently dispensing the product from the bag via a pressurized fluid source.

Valves according to the present invention include a valve housing, a valve stem, and a spring or other biasing device that allows the valve stem to move relative to the valve housing. The valve stem is hollow to allow the flow of product to and from a bag attached to the valve housing. There are radial bores and a seal near the bottom of the valve stem that dictate the passage and flow rate of pressurized product between the product container and the environment. The bore shape and size can be selected to facilitate a high volume flow rate for highly viscous substances.
