Patent number: 7347691Abstract: The protective sleeve for a saliva ejector is formed of a soft, porous plastic material for installation upon the end of a conventional ejector tube to protect the soft tissues within the mouth of a dental patient during dental work. The device has a generally cylindrical external configuration with a frustoconical installation passage formed concentrically therein. The installation passage has a relatively wide mouth and narrower neck portion within the intermediate portion of the sleeve. The installation passage widens within the distal end portion of the device, to provide clearance for the larger diameter head of the ejector tube. This results in a necked-down portion in the intermediate portion of the device. The distal end of the device is closed, with a larger diameter bulbed external portion providing further cushioning.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 2006Date of Patent: March 25, 2008Assignee: Ines Collia KellyInventor: Daniel E. Patent number: 5974674Abstract: A saw assembly for a floor installer to use in undercutting baseboards, doors, and the like includes an electric motor subassembly having an electric motor and a spindle rotatably powered by the electric motor, a circular blade mounted on the spindle, and a blade guard subassembly. The blade guard assembly includes a moveable component adapted for movement to a retracted position that exposes more than 180 degrees of the circumference of the circular blade in order to facilitate the undercutting of a ninety degree inside corner. One embodiment uses a conventional handheld 11,000 rpm high speed grinder motor assembly with a right angle drive to power a high speed 4-inch blade in place of a grinder wheel. Carrying the undercut saw with a grinder wheel, sanding wheel, and a tile cutting blade adds functionality.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 1998Date of Patent: November 2, 1999Inventor: Daniel E. Kelly
