    Abstract: Novel water-soluble acrylamide copolymers contain 40 to 70 percent by weight acrylamide units, at least 30 percent of hydrophobic vinyl units and at least 10 percent of vinyl units having ionic properties. In aqueous solution these copolymers have the properties of cationic or amphoteric surface active agents.
