Publication number: 20230419600Abstract: Example embodiments relate to techniques for volumetric performance capture with neural rendering. A technique may involve initially obtaining images that depict a subject from multiple viewpoints and under various lighting conditions using a light stage and depth data corresponding to the subject using infrared cameras. A neural network may extract features of the subject from the images based on the depth data and map the features into a texture space (e.g., the UV texture space). A neural renderer can be used to generate an output image depicting the subject from a target view such that illumination of the subject in the output image aligns with the target view. The neural render may resample the features of the subject from the texture space to an image space to generate the output image.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 5, 2020Publication date: December 28, 2023Inventors: Sean Ryan Francesco FANELLO, Abhi MEKA, Rohit Kumar PANDEY, Christian HAENE, Sergio Orts ESCOLANO, Christoph RHEMANN, Paul DEBEVEC, Sofien BOUAZIZ, Thabo BEELER, Ryan OVERBECK, Peter BARNUM, Daniel ERICKSON, Philip DAVIDSON, Yinda ZHANG, Jonathan TAYLOR, Chloe LeGENDRE, Shahram IZADI

Patent number: 11825964Abstract: A frame lit mirror component includes an extruded frame member. The extruded frame member further includes a mirror mounting edge. The mirror mounting edge extends along a longitudinal direction of the extruded frame member. The mirror mounting edge is sized to receive an edge of a mirror. A light source volume extends along the longitudinal direction of the extruded frame member. An angle exists between the mirror mounting edge and the light source volume. The light source volume is sized to receive a light source, such that when the light source is in an on-state light radiates from the light source volume.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 2019Date of Patent: November 28, 2023Assignee: ELECTRIC MIRROR, LLCInventors: Jon Philip Johnston, Patrick Daniel Erickson

Patent number: 11087540Abstract: An HMD device identifies a pose of the device and identifies a subset of a plurality of camera viewpoints of a light-field based on the pose. The HMD device interpolates image data of the light-field based on the pose and the subset of the plurality of camera viewpoints to generate an interpolated view; and displays at the HMD device an image based on the interpolated view. By interpolating based on the subset of camera viewpoints, the HMD device can reduce processing overhead and improve the user experience.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 2018Date of Patent: August 10, 2021Assignee: Google LLCInventors: Manfred Ernst, Daniel Erickson, Harrison McKenzie Chapter

Patent number: 10948176Abstract: Extruded frame members are connected together to create a frame around a mirror that be illuminated from in front of the mirror. The extruded frame members contain various components in channels or cavities. An extruded frame member can have a channel that contains a light source. A diffuser can be secured over the light source. Another channel is used to hold a mirror in place. The front lit mirror can be hung on a wall utilizing a channel in an extruded frame member. The extruded frame members contain electrical components and mechanical hardware. The hardware is used to attach a plurality of extruded frame members together and to attach an optional decorative frame to an extruded frame member. An extruded frame member is made from transparent or translucent material and can radiate light from a light source contained therein. An extruded frame member is opaque and cannot radiate light.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 2019Date of Patent: March 16, 2021Assignee: ELECTRIC MIRROR, LLCInventors: Jon Philip Johnston, Patrick Daniel Erickson
