  • Patent number: 5682797
Abstract: A conduit length adjustment device including a tubular housing slidably supporting a cylindrical slider member (24), the housing including a box-like access opening for receiving a U-shaped lock button (26). A pair of lugs (52, 54) are disposed on the exterior of the side walls (38) and each of the legs of the lock button (26) includes a pair of holes (56, 58) for co-acting with the lugs (52, 54) for defining detents for retaining the lock button (26) in unlocked and locked positions respectively. In addition, a pair of latch levers (60) extend parallel to the legs of the lock button (26) and have ramps leading to flat ends for snapping under and abutting a pair of co-acting latch abutments (62), which also have ramps (64, 66) leading to flat abutment surfaces whereby independent and simultaneous forces must be applied to the latch levers (60) and the legs of the lock button (26) to enable removal of the lock button (26) from the locked position.

  • Patent number: 5477745
Abstract: A motion transmitting remote control cable assembly (10) comprises a core adjustment mechanism (16, 18, 20) disposed on one end of a core element (12) for adjusting the length of the core element. The core adjustment mechanism comprises a slider member (16) attached to the end of the core element (12) and a housing (18) for slidably supporting the slider member as the slider reciprocates within the housing in response to movement of the core element. The core adjustment mechanism also includes a lock mechanism (20) disposed on the housing for locking the slider member (16) in a given position with respect to the housing (18). A spring (22) is disposed within a partially enclosed space (17) in the slider member (16).

  • Patent number: 5394770
Abstract: A motion transmitting remote control assembly 10 of the type for transmitting motion along a curved path comprising a conduit 12, a flexible motion transmitting core element 14 movably supported within conduit 12, and an adjustment member 16 connected to one of the conduit 12 and core element 14 for adjusting the effective length thereof. The adjustment member 16 comprises an adjustment housing 24 having a first opening 30, a slider member 26 movably disposed in the housing 24, and a locking member 28 movably disposed in the first opening 30 between a locked position to prevent adjustment of the slider member 26 relative to the housing 24 and an unlocked position to allow adjustment of the slider member 26 relative to the housing 24. The housing 24 has bridges 74 extending across the first opening 30 for alternatively holding the locking member 28 in the locked and unlocked positions.

  • Patent number: 5272934
Abstract: A motion transmitting remote control cable assembly (10) comprises a motion transmitting core element (12) slideably supported in a first conduit (14). The assembly (10) also includes a support fitting (20) for supporting the first conduit (14) as it passes through a slot (22) in a support structure (24). The support fitting (20) includes first and second sides (26,28) with guides (30) along the sides for sliding into engagement with the slot in the support structure and retaining the support fitting in the slot. The support fitting (20) finally includes at least one receiving opening (32) extending transversely to the first side (26) for receiving at least one conduit (14) transversely of the sides (26,28).
