  • Patent number: 4343135
Abstract: A support frame and method of making and packaging such frame which comprises a pair of similarly constructed end supports formed of readily bendable structural members, each having a specifically constructed notch configuration about which the structural members can be readily bent to define an inverted U-shaped end support. The arrangement is such that the ends of side rails for maintaining opposed end supports in predetermined spaced relationship are disposed within the respective notches whereby the notches closed about the end of a corresponding side rail to positively secure the rails to the end support during the bending and forming of the U-shaped end support. The structural members and side rails defining the complete support frame are packaged as elongated rectilinear members in complementary pairs with the side rails packaged between a pair of elongated unbent end support members so as to occupy a minimum of space for shipping or packing.

  • Patent number: 4262660
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to a portable, knock down, solar cooker having a box-shaped supporting body to which an expandible parabolic reflector and associated solar oven can be readily assembled and disassembled without the use of any hand tools, and in the disassembled position the component parts can be readily stowed within the box shaped supporting body. The solar cooker also includes a foldable parabolic reflector associated with a solar oven which has a circumscribing shield to define a confined air space about the solar oven in the erected position to enhance the efficiency thereof.

  • Patent number: 4262810
Abstract: A frame structure and method of making same which includes a pair of similarly constructed end supports which can be readily bent to define an inverted U-shaped member, each having a specified notch configuration formed at the corner portions of the respective U-shaped members for receiving and securing the end portions of opposed side rails for maintaining the end supports in a stable predetermined spaced relationship, and cross rails detachably interconnected between the opposed leg portions of the respective end supports. The method of forming such frame structure includes the steps of forming a notch at spaced intervals along a readily bendable length of a stock material whereby the length of stock material can be readily bent into an inverted U-shaped end support in a manner whereby a side rail is gripped and secured at the bent corners of the end supports, and securing a cross rail between the opposed leg portions of the bent end supports.

  • Patent number: 4120284
Abstract: A clip for intimately engaging a solar-ray absorber in heat exchange relation with a conduit whereby a channelled absorber or fin receives the conduit in the channel; a generally C-shaped, resilient clip is applied to the back of the channel to embrace the absorber from behind and clinch it to wrap the channel closely around the conduit.
