    Abstract: An emergency vehicle contains a transmitter for generating and transmitting a pair of fixed continuous wave signals which are distinguishable from each other in a preselected frequency band. A passenger vehicle contains a receiver which detects and distinguishes the pair of signals and generates an alert if the signals are determined to be at predetermined frequencies.
