    Abstract: Embodiments of a lighted memorial are provided. In one embodiment, the lighted memorial may include one or more light sources for illuminating information regarding a deceased, for example, a name, date of birth and date of death. The information regarding the deceased may be placed on a monument, and the light sources may be mounted in, on or adjacent to a base to illuminate the information on the monument. In another embodiment, the information regarding the deceased may be formed in a lens positioned above the light source so that the light source may provide back lighting for the lens. In another embodiment, the light source and lens may be positioned above a housing for containing the cremated remains of a deceased. The remains housing, light source and lens may be mounted at least partially within a base.
