  • Publication number: 20060249185
Abstract: An assembly for rotating and axially directing a high pressure spray hose and spray head to clean residue from the bores of thermal transfer tubes. Modular subassemblies are concentrically aligned and mounted to rotate in synchrony and direct a high-pressure water hose and spray head. Air controlled operator gun and remote controllers control assembly operation. A hose cleaning subassembly washes and/or brushes and cleans the hose exterior with a low-pressure spray. A hose drive assembly controls hose rotation and axial hose movement via biased pinch wheels. A resilient, eccentric linkage controls pinch wheel pressure. A layering arm uniformly layers the hose at an adjustable hose reel. Rotational sensors and/or a pneumatic booster and a disk brake assembly facilitate non-kinking hose collection and release without spillage.

  • Patent number: 6125955
Abstract: An improved magnetic wheel for a vehicle that moves over ferromagnetic surfaces. The vehicle includes an articulating, remotely controlled chassis that is constructed around a variable frequency motor. Drive axles extend from spring biased torsion hubs and are supported at resilient bushings at each wheel. Each wheel includes a number of adjoining annular permanent magnet pole sets. Permanent magnet disks are arrayed around the circumference of each pole set. At least one pole set is secured to a wheel hub and the others are supported from resiliently mounted registration pins. The resiliently mounted pole sets are able to flex with encountered irregularities at the work surface as the axle tracks and independently flexes with the surface changes.

  • Patent number: 6000484
Abstract: A remotely controlled, magnetic wheeled vehicle having a high pressure spray head for cleaning ferromagnetic surfaces. An articulating CHASSIS supports a variable frequency motor, gear reducers, drive axles, a servo motor steering linkage and multiple, laminated permanent magnet wheels. Resilient bushings and split, spring biased torsion hubs independently support the drive axles and each wheel to accommodate changes in surface contour. An adjustable tool head gantry mounts to either the fore or aft axle to support a rotary, multi-orifice sprayer. Control switches and a passive, magnetic anchor and tether protect the equipment while in use. In a second configuration, a sectional chassis framework surrounds the motor and a pair of drive chains transfer power through geared reducers to each axle. Springs are mounted to the aft frame section to provide a torsion suspension at the aft wheels.
