  • Publication number: 20240123494
Abstract: A high pressure die casting (HPDC) system for casting ultra-large single-piece castings for vehicles. The HPDC system includes a clear feeding path from at least one ingate to a predetermined thicker section of a mold cavity, a last to solidify ingate having an equivalent or larger feeding modulus than the highest feeding modulus of the other ingates, and thermal management elements. The clear feeding path, last to solidify ingate, and thermal management elements ensure sufficient supplemental molten metal flow to the thicker portion of the mold cavity to accommodate for shrinkage of the thicker portion of an ultra large casting during the casting and solidification process.

  • Patent number: 11116686
Abstract: A method for inducing knee flexion is described that includes securing a knee rehabilitation device to a leg, the rehabilitation device includes a frame with a handle on a proximal end, a pad piece on a distal end, and a strap between the proximal end and the distal end. The method further includes positioning the knee rehabilitation device on the person's leg such that the handle is above a knee on the leg, the pad piece is on an ankle of the leg, and the strap is located behind the person's leg between the knee and ankle. A first force is then applied to the handle in a first direction. The pad piece is actuated in response to the first force to move in a second direction which applies a second force to the ankle of the leg in a direction to cause flexion of the knee.

  • Patent number: 9894810
Abstract: In one example, a data center may be built in modular components that may be pre-manufactured and separately deployable. Each modular component may provide functionality such as server capacity, cooling capacity, fire protection, resistance to electrical failure. Some components may be added to the data center by connecting them to the center's utility spine, and others may be added by connecting them to other components. The spine itself may be a modular component, so that spine capacity can be expanded or contracted by adding or removing spine modules. The various components may implement functions that are part of standards for various levels of reliability for data centers. Thus, the reliability level that a data center meets may be increased or decreased to fit the circumstances by adding or removing components.

  • Patent number: 9593507
Abstract: An easily deployable freestanding tent for individuals of all ages that is adjustable to accommodate use on varying terrain gradients. At least two collapsible arc-shaped frame members being connected support the tent, the frame assembly being connected with at least two movably securable devices that allow a user to adjust the apex of said frame members to provide a vertically upright configuration on sloping terrain. The frame assembly being constructed of lightweight high-strength materials and intended for use in recreation, commercial, and emergency use applications. Beneficially, users deploy this embodiment first by connecting the pole sections to form the frame members, then securing the top of said frame's apex by manipulating an intersection knot to a vertical configuration effectively setting the adjustable frame upright on even or uneven terrain, and further tensioning a main cord and adjusting a fabric cover as necessary to provide a durable substantially enclosed shelter.
