Buttons include a push button mechanism and a transparent button cap. A one-way mirror film positioned beneath the inner surface of the transparent button cap. A light source is positioned beneath the transparent button cap. A graphical printed pattern is positioned with respect to the light source and the one-way mirror film such that when the light source is active the printed pattern is visible through the one-way mirror film, and when the light source is off the printed pattern is not visible and the transparent button cap has a mirror appearance. The light may be controlled depending on configuration data for the gaming machine, associated with an installed game.

Abstract: A gaming machine display device includes a display device housing and an image forming panel mounted on the display device housing. The image forming panel defines an overall display area facing in an image presenting direction and encompasses both a first display area and a distinct second display area. The gaming machine display device further includes both first and second backlighting arrangements mounted within the display device housing. The first backlighting arrangement is operable for emitting first display area backlight over the first display area at a first brightness level. The second backlighting arrangement is operable for emitting second display area backlight over the second display area. This second display area backlight is switchable between a first illumination state at the first brightness level and a second illumination state at a higher second brightness level while the first display area backlight remains at the first brightness level.

Abstract: The present invention provides a system for receiving biological sequence information and activating the synthesis of a biological entity. The system has a receiving unit for receiving a signal encoding biological sequence information transmitted from a transmitting unit. The transmitting unit can be present at a remote location from the receiving unit. The system also has an assembly unit connected to the receiving unit, and the assembly unit assembles the biological entity according to the biological sequence information. Thus, according to the present invention biological sequence information can be digitally transmitted to a remote location and the information converted into a biological entity, for example a protein useful as a vaccine, immediately upon being received by the receiving unit and without further human intervention after preparing the system for receipt of the information.

A transparent dome is attached to a front portion of the bulb housing. A light pipe holder is positioned between the PCB and the housing face element, and a light pipe is held by the light pipe holder with a proximal end positioned to receive light from the LED. The light pipe extends forward within the interior volume of the bulb housing to present a distal end toward the transparent dome for emitting light.

A power supply assembly in the lower compartment holding power conversion circuitry and DC voltage supply circuitry supplying the processing assembly and the audio amplifier assembly. An air duct is coupled to an air intake located at or above a top surface of the upper compartment, the air duct carrying cooling air to the lower compartment. A fan is positioned to pull external air into the air duct.

A thermal plate defines at least part of a rear wall of the lower compartment and includes a heat conductive metal plate having an interior surface presented inside the lower compartment and an exterior surface presented at a rear side of the gaming machine cabinet. The thermal plate is directly thermally coupled to heat conductive outer surfaces of the processing assembly, the audio amplifier assembly, and the power supply assembly such that heat from these assemblies is thermally conducted through the thermal plate and radiated outside of the cabinet.
