  • Patent number: 11938507
Abstract: Metering dispensers include a body configured to hold a flowable composition in a chamber, a drive screw coupled to the body, and a plunger threadingly coupled to the drive screw. The plunger includes at least two annular lips that form a fluid seal with the chamber as the plunger travels along the drive screw through the chamber. A base is rotationally coupled to the body with a cam that contacts at least one tab extending externally from the body so that the tab enters at least one low point on the cam by traveling over a trailing edge of the low point, and the trailing edge then prevents the tab from exiting the low point in the direction of the trailing edge.

  • Publication number: 20130045241
Abstract: An aqueous dispersion having a mixture of a hydrolysis-sensitive biocide, an iodo-derived hydrophobic biocide and an inert carrier dispersed in water. The iodo-derived hydrophobic biocide forms a complex with the inert carrier and the hydrolysis-sensitive biocide that is dispersible in water. The hydrophobic coating includes an inert carrier and the hydrolysis-sensitive biocide may be trihalogenomethylthio phthalimide or an analogue thereof and the iodo-derived hydrophobic biocide may be iodopropynyl butylcarbamate. The aqueous dispersion may also include a water-repelling layer coating the complex.

  • Publication number: 20120164203
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a process for the preparation of a stable sustained-release biocidal composition containing microencapsulated biocide and wherein the process comprises the steps of: (i) adsorbing the biocide onto an inert carrier by grinding to attain the required particle size and wherein the ratio of biocide; inert carrier is in the range of about 1:99 to about 99:1 (ii) optionally coating with an appropriate amine or imine compound or a water resistant film forming polymer and dispersing the resultant biocide encapsulated inert carrier in an aqueous medium in the presence of suitable dispersing agent (iii) adding at least one thickening agent to re-disperse the encapsulated biocide containing partial amount of non-encapsulated biocide if any and (iv) preparing an aqueous or solvent based sustained release biocide dispersion. Also disclosed is a stable, sustained-release biocidal composition prepared by such process and uses thereof.

  • Patent number: 6616740
Abstract: Liquid compositions consisting essentially of by weight, 0.1-50% IPBC in 99.9-50% polyethylene glycol, polypropylene glycol or polypropylene glycol glyceryl ester, or mixtures thereof, which do not contribute to the VOC of paints and coatings and is stabilized effectively against discoloration even at elevated temperatures or direct sunlight.

  • Patent number: 6125873
Abstract: A device for preventing water line freeze damage. The device incorporates air temperature sensing means to control a trickle flow in a water system, so that a trickle flow is initiated whenever the ambient air temperature drops below a predetermined point. The trickle flow inhibits freezing in the water system.

  • Patent number: 5390386
Abstract: An encapsulated cable for a suspension bridge or a cable-stayed bridge, the cable (10) being encapsulated by a wrap (16) which is formed by spirally winding a flexible strand (S) of a synthetic rubber tightly therearound. The strand is wound with each wind thereof overlapping one-half the width of the preceding wind, thereby forming a uniform thickness, double layer wrap. After the spiral winding step the wrap is heated to heat seal the superimposed layers to one another to thereby seal the seam formed therebetween and shrink the wrap into tight engagement with the cable. The strand, specifically the outermost layer of a laminated multiple layer strand, is precolored with a suitable colorant to eliminate the need for after painting the wrap to obtain a suitable color match between it and adjacent portions of the bridge structure.
