  • Patent number: 11524396
Abstract: A tool is provided for applying fasteners to a workpiece. The tool as a magazine that carries multiple fasteners and is carried by a housing. A driver blade is provided to drive a lead fastener into a workpiece. The driver blade has a driving edge with a profile that includes driving projections, having curved contact surface for contact with curved edges of the fastener, and a relief portion therebetween that is recessed relative to both projections and contact surfaces. Further, the tool includes a lockout assembly for limiting movement of the driver blade and contact trip, thereby limiting activation of the motor. The pusher may include a pusher lockout surface that is designed for movement in an opposite direction to a feed direction by the contact trip as well as configured to slide over a locking art of the contact trip when the fasteners are empty or nearly empty.

  • Publication number: 20210268630
Abstract: A ratcheting tool may include a motor coupled to an output drive mechanism by a clutch assembly. A torque selector may be rotatably coupled to a housing of the tool, to provide for selection of a maximum output torque. The clutch assembly may selectively disengage the motor and the output drive mechanism, or slip, in response to detection of an output torque level, or resistance torque, that is greater than or equal to the selected maximum output torque level.

  • Publication number: 20200023506
Abstract: In a pneumatic-powered tool, exhaust air may be discharged radially from an air driven motor into a motor chamber. In the motor chamber, the exhaust air may follow a flow path around a periphery of the air driven motor, and be discharged into an exhaust chamber. From the exhaust chamber, the exhaust air may be discharged from the tool in a radial direction. A plurality of exhaust slots may be defined in a peripheral wall of the motor chamber, at a portion of the motor chamber that is adjacent to the exhaust chamber. The plurality of exhaust slots may guide exhaust air from the motor chamber into the exhaust chamber. A guide surface of the exhaust chamber may guide air out of the exhaust chamber in an axial direction.

  • Publication number: 20150278941
Abstract: A system, process and non-transitory computer readable storage medium are used to automatically determine whether to provide a loan. In accordance with the loan process, input data comprising at least a request for a loan and an identity of the loan applicant is received from a remote user device operated by, or on behalf of, the person or legal entity applying for a loan. In response to this request several pieces of data are calculated, determined and/or obtained. These include at least a trust rating related to the applicant, a first type of external data related to the credit worthiness of the loan applicant and a second type of data determined by monitoring online usage by the user of the user device. The process then automatically determines whether to provide the requested loan using at least the trust rating and the first and second types of external. If the loan is approved, instructions are sent to transfer the loan to a bank account.

  • Publication number: 20150112853
Abstract: A user device, for example a smart phone, is used to apply for an online loan. The user device includes a camera which allows the user to capture an image of a document in the possession of the user. The image is transmitted to a remote computer system which carries out an automated loan decision making process to determine whether to provide an online loan to the user as a function of, inter alia, the image of the document. The automated loan decision making process can use the image to determine information about the user of the device who is requesting an online loan. The user device determines when to capture an image of the document when it is properly positioned within the frame of the camera and/or as a function of when it is properly focused in the frame of the camera.

  • Publication number: 20140279390
Abstract: A computer system includes a processor, memory and one or more inputs. The computer system is programmed to carry out the following process. Data identifying a user applying for an on-line loan is received. A trust rating is determined as a function of the data identifying the user. Data is provided to a user device to present to the user a graphical control having a lower level, an upper level and a pointer moveable between the lower level and the upper level. The computer system selects the upper level as a function of the trust rating. Data is received specifying one or more selections made by the user on the graphical control including the final position of the pointer. A determination is made whether to provide a loan as a function of the data specifying the selections made by the user.

  • Publication number: 20140201061
Abstract: A computerized system for determining whether to provide a loan to a customer who would like to purchase goods from a website of a merchant. The computerized system includes at least one processor, at least one memory, and at least one program stored in at least one of the memories. The at least one program causes the computerized system to respond to a receipt of a notification that the customer is browsing one or more pages of the website by crawling one or more pages of the website to determine the presence or absence of specified features on the pages and providing a decision as to whether or not to authorize a loan to the customer to purchase the goods from the merchant as a function of the presence or absence of the specified features.

  • Publication number: 20140114984
Abstract: A method and computer system for providing a measure of confidence of the identity of a user of a remote computer system. Information from the remote computer system about the purported identity of the user is received. A plurality of images of street scenes located within a geographical area of a neighbourhood surrounding a physical address associated with the user is collected along with the plurality of images of street scenes located outside of the geographical area. Signals are sent to the remote computer system allowing it to display the users of the streets scenes and asking the user to select those images which are in the geographical area. Information about the user's selection is received and a rating of confidence that the purported identify of the user is correct is made as a function of the user's selection.

  • Publication number: 20140095354
Abstract: A computer system includes a processor, a display, one or more input devices allowing a user to input commands into the computer system and a browser which allows the user of the system to browse remote web pages. The computer system is programmed to use the browser to visit a website in response to one or more user commands entered into at least one of the user input devices. Multiple strings are extracted from the visited web page. The probability that the visited web page is one of a predetermined set of types of web pages is determined as a function of whether the strings correspond to a stored list of strings. If the probability is greater than a threshold, an indication is provided on the display that an online loan may be available to the user of the computer system.
