Abstract: A method for producing a hybrid component which includes at least one plastics layer and at least one protection element connected to the plastics layer, the method includes providing a pressing tool comprising a lower tool part and an upper tool part that are movable relative to one another between an open position and a closed position; placing at least one protection element and at least one polymer melt into the pressing tool so that the polymer melt and the protection element are arranged above one another; and closing the pressing tool, such that the upper tool part comes into contact with the at least one polymer melt or the at least one protection element reshaping the polymer melt by way of applying pressure via the pressing tool, and connecting the at least one polymer melt to the at least one protection element by forming the plastics layer.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an underbody protection means (1) for a motor vehicle, comprising at least one plastic layer (11, 12), at least one protection element (21, 22), and at least one foam layer (30), wherein the protection element (21, 22) is joined to the plastic layer (11, 12) and the foam layer (30) is joined to an inner surface (2) of the underbody protection means (1). The present invention also discloses: a battery housing having an underbody protection means (1) according to the invention; a traction battery having a battery housing according to the invention; and a motor vehicle having a traction battery according to the invention.

Abstract: An underbody protection for a motor vehicle includes at least one first protective element, a support structure with a plurality of ribs and at least one second protective element, whereby the support structure is sandwiched between the first protective element and the second protective element and is connected to each of these, and wherein the ribs extend between the first protective element and the second protective element, so that a plurality of cavities are formed between the first protective element and the second protective element.
