  • Publication number: 20240109150
Abstract: An apparatus for laser processing of a workpiece is provided. The workpiece includes a transparent material. The apparatus includes a beam shaping device for forming a focus zone from an input laser beam. The focus zone is formed in elongate fashion in relation to a longitudinal axis. The focus zone has, in a plain perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, an asymmetric cross-section with a preferred direction. The apparatus further includes an actuating device for altering the preferred direction during the laser processing of the workpiece, and a control device for controlling the actuating device based on a predefined assignment specification in order to control the preferred direction by open-loop control or closed-loop control during the laser processing of the workpiece.

  • Publication number: 20150273779
Abstract: A press has a frame, an upper die vertically shiftable on the frame, a drive for vertically shifting the upper die on the frame, an upper holding ram vertically shiftable in the upper die, and an upper actuator connected between the upper holding ram and the upper die and operable to move the upper ram vertically relative to the upper die. There is also a lower die on the frame below the upper die, a lower holding ram vertically shiftable in the lower die, a lower actuator connected between the lower holding ram and the lower die and operable to move the lower ram vertically relative to the lower die. A bridge unit is connected between one of the actuators and the respective die for bridging an acceleration phase of the respective actuator in which the respective actuator can be accelerated to the speed of the respective ram.

  • Publication number: 20070264515
Abstract: A bonded structure including one or more substrates bonded together with a tackified amorphous poly-alpha-olefin adhesive composition. One method of making such a bonded structure is carried out by applying a tackified amorphous poly-alpha-olefin adhesive composition to one or more substrates at a temperature of about 170 degrees Celsius or lower, and joining the substrates to themselves or to one another. The bonded structure has a dynamic peel strength between about 400 and about 1000 grams per 25 millimeters. The bonding efficiency of the bonded structure renders the bonded structure suitable for incorporation into a variety of articles, including personal care products, health/medical products, and household/industrial product, for example.
