  • Publication number: 20220326098
Abstract: A sensing fretboard for stringed instruments is described herein with respect to a guitar. The present invention includes custom frets and a modular sensing array that can be incorporated into a fretboard and coupled to the guitar. By measuring the dynamic forces applied by the players on the frets and strings of the guitar, musicians can be warned in real time during practice, when their grip is too strong, and to help musicians learn and recover from injuries.

  • Patent number: 9066673
Abstract: Example systems, apparatus, circuits, and so on described herein concern intervention-independent scan plane control for an MRI system. A tracking device capable of being manipulated independently of an interventional device in use to treat a patient transmits position signals describing an orientation of the tracking device to an MRI system. The MRI system determines a desired scan plan that will correspond to the orientation of the tracking device and performs a diagnostic scan on the desired scan plan.

  • Publication number: 20140089779
Abstract: An electronic book generation method of a composite layer and a hypertext markup language includes the steps of (a) judging whether a trigger event which is predetermined to be input is existed or not; (b) acquiring a predetermined file of a layer or a hypertext markup language in accordance with a comparison table when the trigger event which is predetermined to be input is happened; and (c) acquiring a container corresponding to a format of the predetermined file so as to load the predetermined file in the container and add with a page.

  • Publication number: 20130311861
Abstract: An effect editing method for electronic books (e-books) is provided to edit an e-book page displayed on a touch-sensitive screen of an electronic device. The method includes following steps: (a) separating the e-book page into a plurality of sub-regions, each having a position parameter; (b) recording a first position parameter corresponding to a first sub-region, which is selected at beginning, and a second position parameter corresponding to a second sub-region, which is selected at ending; and (c) linking the first position parameter, the second position parameter, and position parameters between the first position parameter and the second position parameter to an effect, thus making the touch-sensitive screen of the electronic device to display the e-book page, and performing the effect when the selected sub-region is triggered. The efficacy of the present invention can automatically select several sub-regions, thereby reducing operational time, and improving the manufacturing efficiency of e-books.

  • Publication number: 20060148712
Abstract: Inhibitors of galectin-3 expression or activity, for administering to a subject in an amount sufficient to reduce or decrease onset, progression, severity, frequency, duration or probability of one or more symptoms associated with asthma, among other respiratory airway and respiratory mucosal disorders.

  • Publication number: 20050250123
Abstract: It has now been discovered that galectin-12 is necessary for the differentiation of pre-adipocytes into adipocytes and for differentiation of leukocytes. Inhibition of galectin-12 activity can therefore be used to block the formation of new fat cells or to down-regulate the formation of leukocytes, for example, to promote wound healing. The invention provides, for example, short, interfering RNAs (siRNAs) to inhibit expression of galectin-12 and its consequent activity. The invention further provides the use of inhibitors of galectin-12 activity and methods of inhibiting galectin-12 activity using such inhibitors.

  • Patent number: 6686656
Abstract: A vertically integrated chip scale package (CSP) assembly comprising two or more single chip package subassemblies having an upper level CSP subassembly superimposed directly above a lower level CSP subassembly. The lower-most CSP subassembly in the vertical stack contains an array of solder balls for interconnection to a printed wiring board. The vertical electrical connection between the upper and lower level package subassemblies is accomplished by using wire bonding from perimeter wire bonding pads located on an upper level substrate extension to matching perimeter wire bonding pads located on a lower level substrate extension that is longer in length than the upper level substrate extension. The stacked package subassemblies are bonded together by using a thin adhesive material, and the perimeter wire bonds are encapsulated by an encapsulant for protection.

  • Patent number: 6396841
Abstract: Repeater units in a stack are identical. Each repeater unit has an internal repeater and an internal bridge. The repeater stack is dual-speed, with each repeater connecting to a 10 Mbps (10M) backplane bus and to a 100 Mbps (100M) backplane bus in the stack's chassis. The internal repeater has a 10M repeater circuit that connects 10M ports to the 10M bus, and a 100M repeater circuit that connects 100M ports to the 100M bus. Ports are configured for either 10M or 100M operation. Data from 10M ports is repeated to all other 10M ports and to the 10M bus, but not to 100M ports or the 100M bus. Instead, a 10M port is connected to the internal bridge, which is also connected to a 100M port. The internal bridge stores and forwards packets to and from the 10M port and the 100M port. Only one internal bridge in the stack is configured to link the 10M and 100M ports. Other internal bridges are configured to connect a cascading port to the internal repeater. The cascading port is buffered by the internal bridge.

  • Patent number: 6240101
Abstract: Each stacked repeater has two activity ports that are daisy chained to the activity ports of other repeaters in the stack. Each activity port has an input and an output. The two activity ports connect to the next repeater above and the next repeater below in the stack. Each repeater examines its local network ports to computer stations such as PC's to determine if any are inputting data to the repeater. When any local port is inputting data, the repeater activates both of its activity-port outputs. When no local port is inputting data, the repeater simply passes each activity-port's input through to the other activity-port's output. Thus the activity-port output indicates when either the repeater or an earlier repeater in the chain has a local port inputting data.
