The barrel portion includes a first cylindrical portion located within a second cylindrical portion about a cooling fan axis of rotation. A multiple of webs are located between the first and second cylindrical portions which strengthen the barrel portion to an extent that a relatively lightweight inexpensive plastic material may be utilized to form the fan shroud without reducing the strength thereof. The vibration isolator is mounted within an opening formed in the bracket to engage a mounting pin which extends from an upper surface of a radiator. The mounting bracket is preferably formed of a non-metallic material such as glass-filled polypropylene and a plurality of ribs in the upper surface of the mounting bracket increase the structural rigidity thereof. The vibration isolator is a substantially annular member which receives the mounting pin while providing a pad section to engage the upper surface of the radiator. Patent number: 6483300Abstract: The present invention is directed to a disc heater for use with a spin-stand. The disc heater is adapted to heat a disc that is mounted to a spindle of the spin-stand. The disc heater includes a heater support, a heater, and a controller. The heater support is couplable adjacent the spindle and the disc and is adapted to support the heater near a surface of the disc. The heater produces heat that raises at least a surface of the disc to a temperature that simulates an operating temperature of a disc drive. The controller is electrically coupled to the heater and controls the heat produced by the heater. The spin-stand is adapted to perform various tests on the transducing head. The column fabricating assembly includes a unitary column mold and a mold support assembly. The unitary column mold is reusable and is fabricated specially for the task of fabricating a column therein. Uncured column materials are placed into the unitary column mold and the unitary column mold is enclosed in the mold support assembly. The uncured column materials cure, and thus the column is formed, while the unitary column mold is encased in and spun by the mold support assembly. The unitary column mold is removed from the mold support assembly with the column therein.
