  • Patent number: 5171168
Abstract: This electrical plug-socket unit has a pair of integral, elongated, substantially rigid, electrically conductive prong-socket members embedded in a molded dielectric plastic body having several angularly disposed faces. Prong elements of the respective prong-socket members at one end project perpendicularly from one face of the dielectric body. Flat bifurcated elements at the opposite end of the respective prong-socket members are located behind another face, which has openings leading into these socket elements. Connecting segments of the prong-socket members between their prong and socket elements offset the socket elements laterally from each other and offset them angularly from the respective prong elements. In one embodiment there is a third prong-socket member in which the prong is a round ground prong that projects from the one face of the dielectric body and the socket element is a hollow member within the body. The hollow socket element is parallel to the bifurcated socket elements.

  • Patent number: 4844095
Abstract: A reusable automatic lancet device having a removable finger rest with an opening for passing the lancet needle to prick a patient's finger below the finger rest. A pivoted arm which holds the lancet needle is locked in a cocked position before the finger rest is inserted and it is released in response to upward pressure of the patient's finger against the finger rest after its insertion.

  • Patent number: 4658821
Abstract: The present invention consists of an improvement on the pivoting arm of an automatic lancet. Generally an automatic lancet is comprised of a housing having a spring loaded pivoting arm. The arm has a cylindrical holder at the operating end which holds a needle encased in a plastic carrier. Upon releasing the spring, the needle pierces the patient's finger producing a blood sample. To replace the needle generally requires pulling the old needle out with one's fingers and pushing a new one in. The present invention improves the cylindrial holder by adding a plunger inside it. This enables the user to push the old needle out without the necessity of grabbing or touching the old needle. Thus, safety for the medical technician is greatly enhanced.

  • Patent number: 4620410
Abstract: An apparatus for feeding hypodermic needles into corresponding recesses of a mold cavity in the bottom mold plate of a plastic injection molding machine. The bottom mold plate can be shifted from a molding position to a loading position at one side of the machine. At that side of the machine, a magazine holding two stacks of hypodermic needles is slidably adjustable horizontally with respect to a shuttle plate mounted on that side of the machine. The magazine at the bottom has lower and upper plates slidable respectively across the bottom and top of the shuttle plate. In one position of the magazine, openings in its upper bottom plate register with corresponding openings in the shuttle plate to pass individual needles by gravity into the shuttle plate.

  • Patent number: 4539988
Abstract: A disposable automatic surgical lancet having a plastic spring arm molded integral with a central frame piece which is part of the housing. The free end of the spring arm carries a holder for a lancet blade or needle. The spring arm can be cocked in a retracted, stressed position from which it is released by pushing in on the front wall of the housing. When released, the spring arm carries the lancet blade or needle upward to project through an opening in a concave depression on the top of the housing where the patient's finger tip rests. A lock arrangement inside the housing holds the front wall in its pushed-in position so the lancet cannot be used again inadvertently.

  • Patent number: 4048741
Abstract: The present lock assembly is to prevent rotation of a gun cylinder or similar rotatable body. The lock assembly has a housing that is slidably insertable into a chamber in the gun cylinder from the back end. An eccentric lock at the front end of the lock housing is slidably insertable through the cylinder chamber, after which it may be turned to a locking position in front of the cylinder by a key inserted into the back end of the lock housing. Within the lock housing an off-center shaft carries the eccentric lock and cooperates with a spring-biased release slide for operation by the key to turn the eccentric lock between its "unlock" and "locking" positions. A fixed projection on the back end of the lock housing is disposed outside the back end of the cylinder for engagement with the gun body to prevent the cylinder from turning.
