  • Patent number: 10363027
Abstract: A suture assembly includes a leader attached to a suture. The leader includes a band, a clasp extending from a distal edge of the band, and at least two prongs extending from a proximal edge of the band. The band is curved to provide the leader with an exterior surface that defines an outermost perimeter of the leader and an interior surface opposite of the exterior surface. The clasp is crimped onto the suture such that the suture is captured within the outermost perimeter of the leader.

  • Patent number: 10278691
Abstract: A suture assembly includes a suture clip connected to a suture. The suture clip includes a proximal end opposite a distal end, a first side edge opposite a second side edge, with each of the first side edge and the second side edge extending from the proximal end to the distal end of the suture clip. The suture clip is formed such that the first side edge is spaced apart from the second side edge to provide an open slot that is adapted to allow the suture clip to flex in a radial direction. A tab extends from the distal end of the suture clip and is crimped to the suture. A rib formed on an interior surface of the suture clip.

  • Patent number: 9220495
Abstract: One aspect provides a suture system including a tool and a suture assembly. The tool includes a head having a proximal portion housing a needle and a distal end spaced apart from the proximal portion by a throat, the needle is movable through a needle exit port formed in the proximal portion of the head to a cavity formed in the distal end of the head. The suture assembly includes suture connected to a suture clip that includes a cylindrical body having a proximal end and a distal end and a slot formed in the cylindrical body between the proximal end and the distal end that allows the cylindrical body to flex in a radial direction, a tab extending from the distal end and configured to be crimped onto an end of the length of suture, and a rib formed on an interior surface of the cylindrical body.

  • Patent number: 8398659
Abstract: A method of intracorporeally suturing a patient includes engaging tissue with a suturing head retaining a needle, forming an opening in the tissue with the needle, and pushing the needle into a through-bore formed in a capsule that is attached to a leading end of a suture and pulling the capsule and the leading end of a suture through the opening. The method additionally includes securing a clasp attached to a trailing end of the suture to an implantable support, and pulling on the suture and implanting the support inside the patient.

  • Patent number: 8226686
Abstract: An attachment assembly configured to secure an implantable support within a patient includes a length of suture, an anchor, a capsule, and a clasp. The suture has a leading end half terminating in a leading end and a trailing end half terminating in a trailing end. The anchor is coupled to the trailing end half of the length of the suture. The capsule is attached to the leading end of the suture and has a through-bore extending longitudinally through the capsule. The clasp is attached to the trailing end of the suture, the clasp attachable to the implantable support.
