  • Publication number: 20240084727
Abstract: Heating of the charge air in an intake is provided by a working fluid that is circulated through the intake to exchange heat with the charge air. The heated charge air can be used in response to a thermal management condition for an exhaust gas produced by operation of the internal combustion engine.

  • Patent number: 7398375
Abstract: The present invention provides a dynamic scheduling scheme that uses reservation stations having at least one station that stores an at least two operand instruction. An allocator portion determines that the instruction, entering the pipeline, has one ready operand and one not-ready operand, and accordingly places it in a station having only one comparator. The one comparator then compares the not-ready operand with tags broadcasted on a result tag bus to determine when the not-ready operand becomes ready. Once ready, execution is requested to the corresponding functional unit.

Inventors: Daniel J. Ernst, Todd M. Austin
  • Patent number: 6715250
Abstract: A plastic panel for attachment to an exterior wall of a building includes a body, an attachment hem attached to the body and defining at least one aperture for a fastener, and a side flange extending laterally outwardly of the body. The side flange defines a fastening slot for attaching the panel to a building wall. The fastening slot extends at a predetermined acute angle relative to horizontal, preferably about 10-20° relative to horizontal, and about 15° in a particularly preferred embodiment. The fastening slot is preferably elongated and narrow so that the head of a metal fastener extends over opposed upper and lower edges of the slot.

Date of Patent: April 6, 2004
    Assignee: Alcoa Inc.

  • Publication number: 20020184412
Abstract: A system and method for framing bits wherein fifteen bits of a parallel bit stream are examined to identify a first repeating byte and, upon identification of a first repeating byte, a bit offset of the byte from a bit zero of the parallel bit stream is determined. The bits in the parallel bit stream are then shifted by the determined bit offset to generate a byte aligned parallel bit stream. Each byte of the byte aligned parallel bit stream is then examined to identify a second repeating byte and, upon identification of a second repeating byte, a byte offset of the second repeating byte from a byte zero of the parallel bit stream is determined, and the bytes in the parallel bit stream are shifted by the determined byte offset to generate a frame aligned parallel bit stream. The frame aligned parallel bit stream is then transmitted, and a frame pulse is generated to accompany the frame aligned parallel bit stream.

  • Patent number: 6421975
Abstract: A molded plastic panel for covering an exterior building wall includes a laterally directed lead fin, a laterally extending groove below the lead fin, and a rearwardly directed middle wall between rows of simulated shingles, all for joining laterally adjacent panels. A side flange extending outwardly of the panel may also be included. The molded plastic panel preferably also includes at least one row of simulated shingles separated by a plurality of gaps each having a randomly varying width in order to camouflage spacings between adjacent panels that change because of thermal contraction and expansion. In a particularly preferred embodiment, the panel body includes a locking tab and a folding flange. The folding flange includes a locking lip for engaging a locking tab on an adjacent panel and a flexible hinge connecting the locking lip to the panel body. The flexible hinge allows the folding flange to be disconnected from the locking tab when replacing a single panel.
