  • Publication number: 20150316345
Abstract: An air gun with a quick-release pneumatically operated gas valve that includes a piston positioned in a cylinder with one closed end so that the piston may seat against a gas outlet to close the gas valve. A control reservoir filled with gas to a control pressure is formed in the cylinder between the piston and the closed end of the cylinder so that the control pressure acts against the piston to close the gas valve. Opening a trigger valve allows the gas in the control reservoir to escape through an exhaust port, resulting in the gas valve being rapidly opened.
    Type: Application
    Filed: July 14, 2015
    Publication date: November 5, 2015
    Applicant: Gaither Tool Company, Inc.
Inventors: Richard W. Brahler, II, Daniel J. Kunau

  • Patent number: 8621772
Abstract: In a revolver having a frame, carrying a barrel and a revolving cylinder having multiple cartridge chambers therearound, the improvement comprising: a) a sliding sleeve positioned over an inner end portion of the barrel, said end portion of the barrel and inner diameter of the sliding sleeve closely mated; and, a) a sliding sleeve positioned over an inner end portion of the barrel, said end portion of the barrel and inner diameter of the sliding sleeve closely mated; and, b) said sliding sleeve having a front face having a central opening therethrough having an inner diameter nominally equivalent to marginally larger than, a bore through the barrel. Whereafter firing, the sliding sleeve is instantaneously driven back contacting its front face with the revolving cylinder, thereby eliminating any gap between the revolving cylinder and the barrel, preventing exploding gas from escaping therethrough, and substantially increasing bullet discharge velocity and energy.
