  • Patent number: 5120065
Abstract: A talking board game having a board and an electronic computer system providing speech information to the players, and cards which can be read by the electronic computer system.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 8, 1991
Date of Patent: June 9, 1992
    Assignee: Hasbro, Incorporated
Inventors: Robert W. Driscoll, Daniel J. Marceau
  • Patent number: 5094646
Abstract: A controller for a remote toy vehicle includes a housing which is formed in the configuration of a control toy vehicle and a control assembly for controlling the operation of the remote toy vehicle. The control assembly includes a manually manipulatable direction control member which is directionally related to the control toy vehicle and manipulatable relative thereto for effecting corresponding movements in the remote toy vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4153930
Abstract: A particular control waveform actuates the half-bridge switching elements of a three-phase power inverter in such a manner as to balance harmonic cancellation between waveform notching and low impedance filtering in obtaining a substantial sinusoidal output signal. The control waveform allows a small amount of lower order harmonics which inherently decreases the higher order harmonics generated by the notches in the control waveform so that a small filter, e.g., a five percent filter, can be used which eliminates the need for voltage regulation under various current loads and yet both the unregulated voltage fluxations and overall harmonic content of the output signal is well within acceptable tolerances for use by an electrical power utility or the like. At the same time, the control waveform employs a relatively low per cycle switching rate which minimizes the number of off-on transitions of each of the high-current, solid state switches in the inverter thereby retaining high inverter efficiency.

  • Patent number: 3936821
Abstract: A supervisory circuit for a plurality of continuously-conductive alarm devices connected in parallel between a pair of conductors monitors the operability of the circuit as well as the operability of each of the devices. Alarm devices having a low impedance are connected between the conductors over a parallel-connected resistor and diode which unidirectionally increases the impedance of such devices. The alarm circuit is connected in one arm of a balanced bridge circuit which has a detecting circuit connected in a further branch of the bridge circuit for monitoring the impedance of the circuit and for providing a supervision signal in response to a change in the impedance of the alarm circuit indicating inoperability of a device or open or short circuit conditions for the conductors which connect the devices into the circuit.
