Publication number: 20220292485Abstract: Systems and methods for managing mobile payments is provided. An account issuer provides an application that is loaded onto a mobile device, which enables a consumer to pay for transactions. The mobile payment application generates a unique code. The code is read by the point of sale terminal, which is then provided to the payment management system. The payment management system contracts the account issuer and authenticates the code, thereby receiving a primary account number. Account number and transaction information is used to authorize the transaction via payment systems. The payment system accepts or declines the transaction in a response. Tokens may be generated for the account number, and value added services may be generated based upon user behaviors.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 31, 2022Publication date: September 15, 2022Inventors: Travis Lee PRIEST, Daniel J. Patent number: 8406761Abstract: A device includes a first type of cellular capability for connecting to a first cellular network and a second type of cellular capability for connecting to a second cellular network. The device terminates advertising of the first type of cellular capability after determining that the device is not initialized. The device also transmits a request to the second cellular network by using the second type of cellular capability; receives a name of a carrier, associated with the device, from a server and via the second cellular network; and initializes the device based on the name of the carrier.Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 2011Date of Patent: March 26, 2013Assignees: Cellco Partnership, Verizon Patent and Licensing Inc.Inventors: David B. Patent number: 8387501Abstract: A method and apparatus for rapidly severing a decoy towline extending from an aircraft by a mechanical spring actuated cutting blade and a thermal fuse type of release mechanism eliminating a pyrotechnic actuation device. The cutting blade is biased toward cutting engagement with the towline by a preloaded coil compression spring retained in the loaded position by a length of a polymer cord. The polymer cord has a heater wire wrapped about a portion of the cord which is connected to a DC voltage supply. The heater wire melts the cords when electrically connected to the DC power supply which releases the restraint on the spring which then drives the cutting blade into severing engagement with the towline.Type: GrantFiled: April 10, 2009Date of Patent: March 5, 2013Assignee: BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems Integration Inc.Inventors: James J. Jordan, Daniel J. Murphy, Douglas A. Fisher, Jr., Tyler Forbes

Publication number: 20110106775Abstract: In a large scale data repository, a single logical view of multiple versions of the same data is presented. In order to determine which data versions are equivalent without comparing each pair of entries in the database, the database entries are clustered with a clustering algorithm and then comparisons between entries are made only between the entries in each cluster. Once a set of entries has been determined to be equivalent, a composite master entry is constructed from those entries in the set that contain preferred metadata and the composite master entry is made available for searches and display to the user.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 2, 2009Publication date: May 5, 2011Applicant: Copyright Clearance Center, Inc.Inventors: James Arbo, Michael J. Cronin, Keith Meyer, Daniel J. Murphy
