Abstract: A method and apparatus for removing wires from a bale includes a conveyor system for moving one or more bales and a de-wiring station positioned adjacent the conveyor system. The de-wiring station includes a robot with an end tool. A bale that is bound by one or more wires is transferred by the conveyor system to a position proximate the de-wiring station. The robot with end tool moves to sense the location of the wires, cut the wires, collect the wires and deposit the wires in a collection hopper.

Abstract: A cross-feed wrapping apparatus and process for wrapping an object such as a paper roll including a stand assembly for supporting a paper wrapper roll, a feeder assembly for moving a paper wrapper section in a first direction, and a knife assembly for cutting the paper wrapper section from the paper wrapper roll. The apparatus has a table assembly including a conveyor assembly for moving the paper wrapper section in the first direction until the paper wrapper section is centered with respect to the paper roll. The table assembly includes a table roller assembly for moving the paper wrapper section in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction toward the paper roll. A vacuum assembly holds the paper wrapper section in the centered position prior to the wrapping of the paper roll. The apparatus includes a support assembly for the paper roll having a support roller assembly for moving the object as the paper roll is being wrapped by the paper wrapper section to produce a wrapped paper roll.

Abstract: A wrapping machine for a paper roll having a first wrapping head including at least one supply of a first wrapping material. A first movement device moves the first wrapping head in a first predetermined direction. The wrapping machine further has a second head including at least one supply of a second wrapping material. A second movement device moves the second wrapping head in a second predetermined direction. The wrapping machine assembles a wrapped paper roll including a paper roll, at least one first layer of plastic material positioned adjacent to the paper roll, at least one intermediate layer of cushioning material positioned adjacent the first layer of plastic material and a second layer of plastic material positioned adjacent to the intermediate layer of cushioning material.

Abstract: A roll package with die-cut edge protection having a Kraft paper layer surrounding the outer roll surface. A header is positioned adjacent the roll end and the Kraft paper layer has a die-cut edge folded radially inwardly adjacent the header without crimping. An outer plastic wrap layer is positioned adjacent the Kraft paper layer and the die-cut edge.

Abstract: A package for a roll having flexible edge protection including at least one protective end cap adjacent one end of the roll and an outer cylindrical film layer surrounding the outer roll surface. The flexible edge cap and the cylindrical film layer form the flexible edge protection package.

Abstract: A package for a paper roll having a longitudinal axis, a pair of spaced ends and an outer surface extending between the ends and radially spaced from the axis. The package includes an inner layer positioned over the outer surface in a direction substantially parallel to the axis. A middle layer of paper material is positioned over the inner layer in a direction substantially perpendicular to the axis. The package includes an outer layer positioned over the middle layer in a direction substantially perpendicular to the axis. The package is moisture resistant, easy to stack and fire resistant.
