  • Publication number: 20180038646
Abstract: A method to deliver high velocity air from a rotating nozzle manifold which continuously passes through multiple rotational axes so as to project the nozzle discharge air into virtually every spherical direction in order to impact all surfaces on or within a structure. With the use of two rotating air couplings operating in series and each fastened to their own air manifolds, and having small thrust jets on each manifold powered by the same pressurized air supply used for the high velocity discharge nozzles, rotation of the high velocity air nozzle manifold in the X and Y axes are achieved.

  • Publication number: 20130251545
Abstract: An air discharge apparatus such as an air nozzle manifold comprises an elongated air distribution enclosure having an air supply inlet and an elongated air discharge slot. There is at least one removable insert, and generally multiple removeable inserts in the discharge slot. At least one of the inserts has a discharge opening for discharge of air from the enclosure where air can pass through the slots substantially only through the discharge openings.

  • Patent number: 6990751
Abstract: An air knife or air nozzle manifold for drying or blowing off passing articles moved by a conveyor system is provided with a coupling that permits rotation of the air knife or air nozzle manifold relative to the air inlet duct leading from a blower. The air knife or air nozzle manifold has opposing ends located equidistant from a longitudinal axis of rotation relative to a stationary element of the coupling. Thrust nozzles are provided at each of the opposing ends of the air knife or air nozzle manifold to deflect a certain portion of the air from the plenum chamber to provide thrusting jets of air that rotate the air knife or air nozzle manifold about the longitudinal axis. The flow of air emitted from the air knife or air nozzle manifold is thereby directed onto the passing articles from different directions as the articles move by. The efficiency of drying and blowing off the articles to be processed is thereby significantly improved.

  • Patent number: 6898867
Abstract: A compressed air supply system for an air drying device such as a blow-off air knife or compressed air manifold with nozzles directed at articles passing on a conveyor therebeneath is provided with a recirculation loop. An adjustably variable portion of the compressed air emanating from the outlet duct of the air compressor is diverted from the air delivery inlet duct leading to the air blow-off device and is a recirculated to the inlet of the air compressor, where it is mixed with ambient air at ambient temperature and pressure. The blower system recirculates between about one percent and eighty percent of the total air flow emanating from the compressor outlet duct to produce a fully adjustable total air temperature rise of up to twenty-five degrees Fahrenheit for each one pound per square inch of blower pressure above ambient air pressure.
