Abstract: A mower-conditioner implement is equipped with a rotary disc cutter bar and associated with the cutter bar are a plurality of crop-lifting units that cooperate to define an upright lip that works together with transversely spaced ramp sections, of the respective lifting units, that incline downwardly to the front from transversely spaced locations along the top of the lip for lifting and directing cut crop to the conditioner. In one embodiment, the crop-lifting units are releasably coupled to the cutter bar, and, in a second embodiment, are formed integrally with the cutter bar.

Abstract: An applicator for introducing a therapeutic substance into a body cavity of a subject in need of the therapeutic substance is provided. The applicator has the look and feel of a conventional tampon applicator but delivers a therapeutic substance. Generally, the applicator has a first outer member having a shape suitable for insertion into a body cavity of a mammal and has a dispensing end and a second end distal to the dispensing end. A second inner member is coaxially and slidably housed within the first member such that one end of the second inner member is within the first member. The applicator of the present invention also has at least one aperture located in a side wall of the outer member. The aperture is located on the side wall of the outer member between the dispensing end and the second end of the outer member.

Abstract: A data storage cartridge comprises data storage media configured to store data for read and/or write access, wherein the data may be arranged in a plurality of partitions; and a plurality of cartridge memories. A control system, for example of a data storage drive, is configured to allocate at least portions of capacity of the data storage media to cartridge memories of the data storage cartridge; and to provide information defining the allocated portions of capacity to the cartridge memories. Each of the cartridge memories may have a separate user and thus provide access for that user to separate partitions.

Abstract: In a system including an application subsystem node having an application RSID table and a logging subsystem node having a logging RSID table, the application subsystem node makes a determination of a registration status of a ALSI string relative to the application RSID table during a logging operation of the ALSI string. The application subsystem node further transfers a RSID package from the application subsystem node across a network to the logging subsystem node, wherein the RSID package includes a RSID encoding of the ALSI string and conditionally includes the ALSI string based on the registration status of the ALIS string relative to the application RSID table as determined by the application subsystem node.

Abstract: Compositions, articles and methods are provided for supplying fabric care benefits to clothing or fabrics in an automated washing machine and by manual washing. The fabric care compositions preferably have less than about 5% detergent surfactants, more preferably less than 3%, even more preferably less than 1% and are most preferably free of detergent surfactants. Similarly, the fabric care compositions preferably have less than about 5% fabric softener actives, more preferably less than 3%, even more preferably less than 1% and are most preferably free of detergent surfactants. The laundry articles can take a variety of forms in a variety of physical states all of which will rapidly dispense a unitized amount of one or more selected fabric care agents to a wash and/or rinse bath solution during the laundering process under a variety of conditions. The invention also pertains to laundry kits that contain a variety of such articles and instructions concerning their use.

Abstract: Data for storage by holographic data storage is arranged in an intermediate data storage as data segments which are replicas of holographic storage segments. Files of data are aggregated into the data segments, and a destaging control determines the destaging of the data segments to the holographic data storage in accordance with a plurality of policies, such as whether a segment is full, a time threshold has been reached, or whether a threshold number of segments are “open”. The intermediate data storage may be arranged into a number of partitions at least equal to the number of sources having input to the data destaging system, the partitions comprising integral multiples of the data segments.

The steps comprise run length limited encoding three bytes of data into 5×5 matrix information, the data subject to a 4-byte error correction code; and providing the 5×5 matrix information to a spatial light modulator (SLM), as a portion of a two-dimensional pixel matrix of the spatial light modulator, for recording into a holographic image on the holographic medium.

Abstract: A method of producing CVD diamond having a high colour, which is suitable for optical applications, for example. The method includes adding a gaseous source comprising a second impurity atom type to counter the detrimental effect on colour caused by the presence in the CVD synthesis atmosphere of a first impurity atom type. The described method applies to the production of both single crystal diamond and polycrystalline diamond.

Abstract: The invention provides methods and materials relating generally to plant derived flavin-containing monooxygenases (FMOs) capable of catalysing oxidation of a thio- to a sulphinyl-group during glucosinolate biosynthesis. It further relates to plant derived MYB factors capable of transcriptional regulation of biosynthetic genes. These have utility in the modification of glucosinolate biosynthesis.

The mechanism is such that a transaction participant that is incapable of communicating a heuristic outcome may ignore any such indication. A transaction participant may be incapable because it does not understand the concept of a heuristic outcome at all or because it does not have the ability to inform the transaction coordinator that a heuristic outcome has occurred.

Abstract: A method of producing a single crystal CVD diamond of a desired colour which includes the steps of providing single crystal CVD diamond which is coloured and heat treating the diamond under conditions suitable to produce the desired colour. Colours which may be produced are, for example, in the pink-green range.
